The second Deadpool & Wolverine trailer has revealed an in-depth look at Hugh Jackman’s Logan, and the footage broke Marvel and MCU records.

Deadpool & Wolverine has broken some interesting Marvel Cinematic Universe and non-MCU records with its latest trailer. Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are back as the co-leads of the impressive Deadpool & Wolverine cast, which will see prior Marvel franchise actors return and new stars come in. Deadpool & Wolverine‘s first trailer broke a major record, becoming the most-watched movie trailer within 24 hours ever, and the film’s new trailer has now broken a different kind of record.

As pointed out by LADbibleDeadpool & Wolverine‘s new trailer broke the record for most swear words in a Marvel trailer and featured more F-bombs than the entire MCU combined — including cut-off lines such as in Spider-Man: Homecoming‘s ending. The previous record for swear words in Marvel trailers was also held by Reynolds’ Merc With a Mouth, shared between the first Deadpool 2 trailer and Deadpool‘s red band trailer. The only real F-bomb in the MCU came in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3Deadpool & Wolverine‘s new trailer comes out on top of the MCU with six F-bombs.

How Deadpool & Wolverine Can Keep Breaking Records

The Movie Is Expected To Rule The Box Office

Deadpool & Wolverine‘s new trailer breaking Marvel and MCU records for swear words was to be expected. The movie is the first R-rated film in the MCU, allowing more creative freedom for the franchise. Likewise, when the movie debuts, it should be crowned as the MCU project with the most swear words/F-bombs quite easily. However, there are more difficult records that the MCU’s only 2024 movie could break, including for its two lead characters, Deadpool and Wolverine.

With the impressive number of views on the first Deadpool & Wolverine trailer and the Logan-focused new trailer likely set to follow suit, the MCU movie is on its way to having an enormous box office. Deadpool & Wolverine has all the necessary elements to break the record for the highest-grossing movie among Deadpool and Wolverine films. For Reynolds’ character, Deadpool 2 is the box office king, sitting at $786.3 million worldwide. Jackman’s highest-grossing Wolverine solo film comes in lower than Reynolds’ two Deadpool entries, with Logan achieving $614.2 million globally.

Being the first appearance of Jackman as Wolverine since 2017’s Logan, using the multiverse heavily, and bringing Reynolds’ Deadpool into the MCU, Deadpool & Wolverine has a real shot at breaking the $1 billion mark. The movie would be the first MCU project to do so since 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home nearly grossed $2 billion. Deadpool & Wolverine has a real chance of becoming the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time, with the MCU film needing to surpass Joker’s $1.078 billion mark to break that record.
