Deadpool & Wolverine Popcorn Bucket That Ryan Reynolds Promised Would Outdo Dune 2 Revealed

The first look at the official popcorn bucket for Marvel Studios’ upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine has been revealed, and it certainly lives up to the hype. Following promises from both Kevin Feige and Ryan Reynolds that Deadpool & Wolverine’s popcorn bucket would outdo Dune 2’s and its sandworm theming, the official first look has finally arrived…and it’s certainly as unhinged as one would expect.

The internet went crazy during Dune 2’s theatrical release with its inadvertently suggestive popcorn bucket and open sandworm mouth design which consumers had to stick their hands into. As such, it only made sense that Ryan Reynolds would seek to rise to the challenge with Deadpool & Wolverine’s version. Having promised that Deadpool would design one that would outdo Dune’s, Reynolds has officially revealed the first look and video of Deadpool & Wolverine’s official popcorn bucket styled after Wolverine himself:

Featuring a similar open-mouth design featuring Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, the new popcorn bucket is arguably even worse (and intentionally more suggestive) than Dune 2’s. As such, It’s safe to say Reynolds’ promise has been kept.

How The Deadpool & Wolverine Popcorn Bucket Compares To Dune 2

Movie Goers Still Have To Stick Their Hands In A Mouth

Deadpool Wolverine Popcorn Bucket

Clearly inspired by the Dune bucket, the new Wolverine popcorn bucket features Logan’s open mouth at the top. Just like with the sandworm, audiences must stick their hands into Wolverine’s mouth if they want to snack on some popcorn. Likewise, the side of the bucket comes with a humorous “Designed by Deadpool” signature meant to look like Wade Wilson’s handwriting. That being said, it is nice that you don’t have to deal with the long teeth featured on the Dune bucket that ringed the sandworm’s mouth.

Currently, it’s not yet been revealed whether this new Deadpool & Wolverine bucket will be exclusive to one particular theater chain or not. Hopefully, the bucket will be made available across a wide variety of theater chains, offering consumers more opportunities to get their hands on this unhinged receptacle. Regardless, the new bucket is sure to be a highly sought-after piece of merch when the movie releases in theaters this July.

Regal Responds By Teasing Another Deadpool & Wolverine Popcorn Bucket

The War of the Popcorn Buckets Has Truly Begun

Regal Deapdool Wolverine Popcorn Bucket Spoiler Warning

Following Ryan Reynold’s video of the new Wolverine bucket, Regal Cinemas has also teased yet another Deadpool & Wolverine bucket that will serve as a combined container for both drinks and popcorn:

While the video claims this second bucket will also be inspired by a character from the upcoming movie, the video cuts out with a TVA spoiler warning before revealing who the character actually is, though the post tells viewers to tweet at Reynolds in order to get the full video released. As such, it certainly does seem as though 2024’s “War of the Popcorn Buckets” has well and truly begun thanks to Deadpool & Wolverine.

Deadpool & Wolverine is set to release on July 26th from Marvel Studios.
