The auteur of video games, Hideo Kojima, is the perfect candidate to explore the Marvel multiverse by adapting Deadpool and Wolverine into a game.
Hideo Kojima is one of the most respected names in the gaming industry, and his creative vision is out of this world. Complicated storylines are right up his alley, and the upcoming Marvel movie is something he’s excited for.
Deadpool and Wolverine is a dream come true for MCU fans as it tackles the multiverse but could be improved through gaming. The multiverse is a canvas of artistic opportunity, and it could benefit from Kojima’s weirdness and love for stories that appeal to humanity.
Hideo Kojima Could Adapt Deadpool and Wolverine Into a Game
Hideo Kojima is excited about Marvel Studios’ Deadpool and Wolverine.
After the official trailer was recently released, the director jumped on the hype train by posting the poster on his personal Instagram page. It is wholesome to see a creative share the same enthusiasm with the general audience, but Kojima’s talent can be put to good use in this situation.
The Japanese director prides himself on how wacky and convoluted his stories can be, as seen in Death Stranding. The game also features some form of multiverse that connects both the living and the dead, and recent Marvel projects are suffering from a creative standpoint that Kojima can easily remedy.
The multiverse has now canonized every Marvel-related project that predates the MCU, and Insomniac Games was comfortable exploring the multiverse through its canceled multiplayer game and has already established a new continuity or branched timeline through the Marvel’s Spider-Man series and Marvel’s Wolverine game.
Perhaps Kevin Feige can tap into the unique storytelling of Kojima and apply it to the franchise through a much more immersive and interactive experience.
The Marvel Multiverse Can Benefit From the Unique Vision of Hideo Kojima
Hideo Kojima can help improve the multiverse by giving fans an extra avenue to explore it through his games.
Video game tie-ins are a long-forgotten tradition among developers, but the latest Marvel movie could bring back the old strategy with no restrictions, and Kojima can do it justice without a doubt. The director is also a huge fan of the franchise and would most likely grab the opportunity to adapt it into a format he is known for.
Adapting Deadpool and Wolverine can give the story some room to grow and extra time to breathe, all in line with traditional Kojima storytelling. Audiences can be extremely vocal and know how to share their opinions; regardless of the film’s quality, there will always be an itch and demand for more.
Hideo Kojima has proven that his unique vision can be convoluted, but at its core is a story of humanity, which will be heavily touched upon in future Marvel films in the Multiverse Saga.
