A series of new images give a close look at David Corenswet’s Clark Kent look, as he is to lead the upcoming DC Universe movie, Superman.
New images offer insight into what Clark Kent may look like in Superman (2025). The original DC Extended Universe officially ended with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom in 2023, leaving Peter Safran and James Gunn to launch the DC Universe reset in 2025. David Corenswet will lead the universe’s theatrical premiere as the DCU’s Man of Steel. With filming underway, Gunn has been open about the plot of the upcoming Superman movie, but Corenswet’s Clark Kent has not yet been revealed.
New images captured on the Con Yucatán Facebook page, however, have shown what may be Corenswet’s depiction of Superman. Dressed in a black tank top and shorts, Corenswet’s appearance is so similar to Henry Cavill’s take on Superman that Corenswet was confused for him by the photographer. The actor has also bulked up for the role as seen in a few photos showing his sides. The images are not related to Superman as some reports indicate that the actor was simply filming an advertisement in Mexico.

Why The DCU Needs To Focus On Clark Kent
The DCEU Didn’t Focus On Superman’s Other Side Enough
After Man of Steel, the DCEU rarely focused on Clark Kent’s deep story. Although Superman appeared in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League, it only showed his heroic side and barely touched on his relationship with friends and family. At least in the comics and older movies, the character is intrinsically tied to his life as a humble reporter for the Daily Planet hoping to capture Lois Lane’s attention and love. The DCEU failed to honor that side of Superman, but the DC Universe has the opportunity to depict Clark Kent properly and in-depth.
Based on some story teases from Safran and Gunn, it seems that the upcoming movie may already be taking that direction. It has been confirmed that the latest iteration won’t be an origin story, with Clark already working at the Daily Planet. Safran hinted that the movie would focus on the caped hero “balancing his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing.” Gunn stated that the movie’s inspiration would come from DC Comics’ All-Star Superman while Lex Luthor, played by Nicholas Hoult, would serve as the primary villain.
The new behind-the-scenes look is likely simply a series of still captures from an advertisement, but it does offer insight into Corenswet’s Clark. Given how the new heads of DC Universe want to approach the phase, Corenswet can showcase a relatable Clark, struggling to balance the two sides of his life. If he can master both sides of Superman, he will be an excellent addition to the DCU.
