The first Daredevil: Born Again footage has finally been released by Marvel Studios. One of the most beloved heroes in the MCU timeline who is getting closer to being back in the franchise is Daredevil, following his appearances in Spider-Man: No Way Home, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and Echo. After the creative overhaul caused in 2023, Daredevil: Born Again is on track to release next year, marking one of the final MCU TV shows for Phase 5.
At D23 2024, where Screen Rant is in attendance, Marvel Studios showed the first Daredevil: Born Again footage, featuring the first look at Jon Bernthal’s Punisher return and what Daredevil and Kingpin have been up to. Check out the full description below:
Train subway, Murdock, people going missing, Kingpin art, White Tiger, people need a hero. “New York is what it’s always been.” Out for blood. Fisk on rooftop. Frank and Matt face to face. Multiple Daredevil helmets, Fisk says, “Peace needs to be broken, Chaos must reign.” Matt and Fisk at a diner. “If you step out of line, I am going to be there.” “Who’s this coming from, Murdock…or you darker half?” Kamala’s dad protected by Matt. “What kind of lawyer are you?” he asks, and Matt says, “A really good one.”
Everything The Daredevil: Born Again Footage Reveals About The MCU Show
Based on the Daredevil: Born Again footage that screened, it is clear that a lot has changed since the ending of Daredevil season 3. One of the big aspects is the fact that Daredevil has come a long way in his crime-fighting career, with the footage revealing several of his different masks. From all the action elements featured in the Daredevil: Born Again footage, it is clear that the Disney+ drama is maintaining as many elements of the Netflix series as possible.
The Daredevil: Born Again footage is also putting the spotlight on a couple of new faces from the Marvel canon. One of them is a new Marvel hero who was revealed early through set photos, with the footage confirming that White Tiger is indeed making his way into the MCU. The Daredevil villain Muse is also felt throughout the sizzle reel, although who is playing him has yet to be revealed.
The biggest surprise, however, is the fact that they included a Ms. Marvel connection by having her father show up in Daredevil: Born Again. Whether or not he is there to request legal help from Matt for Kamala Khan remains to be seen, since this will be the first time the MCU references anything about Ms. Marvel after The Marvels. Hopefully, more details about Daredevil: Born Again will come out later this year as they get ready for their March 2025 premiere.
