Chris Evans’ Return in Rumored Captain America Show Won’t Make Sense After What Loki Season 1 Did to Thanos’ Infinity Stones

Chris Evans’ return as Captain America in the Marvel show is marked by challenges, after ‘Loki’ S1.

Despite Chris Evans’ exit from MCU, there have been rumblings for a while now that Marvel Studios has big plans for the actor as Captain America. From chatter about Evans’ Human Torch cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine to the actor’s appearance in a Marvel TV show, speculations have been going wild, surrounding our favorite Cap.

Well, although there has been no official confirmation about Chris Evans’ rumored appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine, the Marvel TV show sounds a bit extra. Meanwhile, the logline for the series suggests that it is set to revolve around the return of the Infinity Stones. But after Loki Season 1 and with Kang and Galactus in the picture, Evans’ return sounds challenging.

Rumors of Chris Evans’ Return to Marvel TV Show

Following the MCU timeline of 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, fans witnessed a happy ending for Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers, after he went back in time to return the Infinity Stones and stayed back with the love of his life, Peggy Carter. Thereafter, Evans’ character took retirement and handed over the mantle to Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson, to be the next Captain America in the upcoming MCU project.

As Anthony Mackie became the new Cap, Chris Evans departed from MCU to branch out and look for other opportunities to explore. Fans were just getting accustomed to Evans’ absence when scooper MyTimeToShineHello reported the development of a limited series for Disney+. As per rumors, the logline revolved around Captain America returning the Infinity Stones to their correct place in time following the events of Avengers: Endgame.

Further, MarvelFilmsNews reported the possibility of a supposed Nomad TV series. It is reported that the particular show will track back the events surrounding Chris Evans’ Captain America, and we’ll finally get to see what happened when Steve returned the Infinity Stones. The show described as a Multiversal adventure will disclose things we’ve learned about the Multiverse since then.

Meanwhile, not just reports of TV shows, but Chris Evans also made headlines for his alleged return as a variant of Johnny Storm in Deadpool & Wolverine. It seems fans and even Marvel can’t seem to let go of Evans, following his exit.

Chris Evans’ Return is Marked by Challenges for Marvel

The storyline and the rumors suggesting Chris Evans’ return undoubtedly sound exciting, but there seem to be certain prevailing challenges that could make his return not only difficult but also meaningless. If we follow the events shown in Loki season 1 which took place after the incidents in Avengers: Endgame, it shows Tom Hiddleston‘s Loki finding the tesseract and Infinity Stones in the desk drawer of an ordinary, low-level office worker of the TVA.

Marvel’s Loki showed how the TVA exists outside of time and space, and therefore turned the rendering forces like the Infinity Stones useless. Therefore, now, creating a Marvel show, namely Nomad, based on the return of the not-so-special Infinity Stones featuring Chris Evans will make no sense, for the reported show’s logline might not tie to the current storyline.

Jonathan Majors as Kang the ConquerorJonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror in Loki

Further, considering Steve Rogers aka Captain America is a staunch enemy of Kang the Conqueror (the major anti-hero in the Loki series), the actor’s return might get plagued with challenges too big for the MCU. Similarly, Chris Evans’ return as Johnny Storm in a cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine, appears a bit difficult since in the MCU timeline Ralph Ineson has been hired as Galactus in Pedro Pascal‘s upcoming Fantastic Four.

Given that Johnny Storm gets kidnapped and turned into a Herald of Galactus, Evans’ appearance as the variant of the Fantastic Four character might come as a challenge.
