Blake Lively Wanted This Actor to Be Batman but Kevin Feige May Have Different Plans for Him: MCU Report on Nova

Blake Lively wanted Brandon Sklenar as Batman, but Kevin Feige reportedly stole DC’s potential Dark Knight to play MCU’s Nova.

James Gunn might turn a deaf ear towards Blake Lively’s shoutout for her It Ends With Us co-star Brandon Sklenar, but Kevin Feige seems to have allegedly heard her plea. According to reports, Lively wanted Sklenar to play DC’s Batman, and so she tried to vouch for him in the Instagram comment section by tagging Gunn.

However, while James Gunn refrained from responding to Blake Lively’s comment, Kevin Feige reportedly hired Brandon Sklenar for Marvel. Now that MCU is currently developing the Nova project, Jeff Sneider revealed how Feige reportedly sought Sklenar to play the titular role.

Blake Lively wants Brandon Sklenar to play Batman

Despite being neck-deep in controversy for It Ends With Us, Blake Lively has been vouching for her co-star Brandon Sklenar. Considering her previous collaboration with DC alongside her husband Ryan Reynolds in Green Lantern, Lively tried persuading the current CEO of the studios, James Gunn, to hire Sklenar as the new Batman (via X).

Since Robert Pattinson’s Batman is a part of Elseworlds, and after the Superman movie DC might require a new Dark Knight, Blake Lively thus tried hyping up Brandon Sklenar as Gotham’s Caped Crusader. Well, she’s not wrong. With Sklenar’s brooding looks and that chiseled jawline, he seems to have almost everything that Batman needs.

But things don’t always go according to plans. While Blake Lively vouched for Sklenar to play Batman in the comments by tagging James Gunn, the mastermind behind DC appeared completely disinterested. Lively’s casting wishes seemingly fell on Gunn’s deaf ears. However, even during despair, someone did hear her loud and clear.

Kevin Feige reportedly sought Brandon Sklenar for Nova

While James Gunn reportedly ignored Blake Lively’s casting idea, Marvel Studios’ big boss Kevin Feige seems to have allegedly taken notes. Instead of letting Brandon Sklenar slip away into the shadows of Gotham, Feige allegedly found the perfect role for him in the MCU. As per Jeff Sneider’s reports (via X), Sklenar is reportedly in the talks for Nova.

For those who don’t know, MCU has many projects in development, featuring both well-known and lesser-known comic characters. But one confirmed project that has been in development for years is currently picking up its pace. And that’s Nova—the film about Richard Rider, the intergalactic police force known as the Nova Corps.

So if reports turn out to be true, then Brandon Sklenar might end up being a part of MCU, rather than DC. Possibly helming the titular role of Richard Rider, Sklenar might end up being destined for intergalactic heroism, rather than brooding in Gotham. Either way, it looks like Blake Lively got her wish—just in a different franchise.
