Blake Lively with Deadpool and Lady Deadpool on her left and right

Blake Lively joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Lady Deadpool in stunning Deadpool & Wolverine artwork. The MCU timeline is about to have one of its biggest stories of all time with the arrival of Deadpool & Wolverine later this month. As Ryan Reynolds is returning in the role of Wade Wilson, the Phase 5 installment will see his titular character tackle the concept of the multiverse.

With The Multiverse Saga being a big part of the overall story in Deadpool & Wolverine, the idea of seeing Deadpool variants in the movie is something that has been heavily teased in marketing leading up to the film. One of the popular theories, based on recent trailers, is that Lady Deadpool will make her MCU debut in Deadpool & Wolverine, with Arifinity sharing new fan art of who could be playing the role.

Since Taylor Swift is confirmed to not be in Deadpool & Wolverine, many have looked to Reynolds’ real-life wife and actress for the prospective casting, reflected by Lively donning the Lady Deadpool costume in the artwork. While the art further underlines how promising Blake Lively would be in the role, it has not been announced whether the actor is actually in Deadpool & Wolverine.

With Deadpool joining the MCU, seeing him coming into contact with other Deadpool variants across the multiverse is one of the most exciting aspects of the movie. As such, the idea of Lady Deadpool finally coming into the fold with Lively portraying her has continued to be one of the most popular theories about Deadpool & Wolverine. Since Swift is seemingly not in the film, Lively being Lady Deadpool makes a lot of sense for multiple reasons.

Throughout the Deadpool franchise, Lively has yet to show up in either of the first two movies. Since Deadpool & Wolverine will mark the conclusion of Reynolds’ trilogy, saving Lively for the threequel as Marvel’s Lady Deadpool is a fun way to finally get them on the screen again after 2011’s Green Lantern. It would also genuinely be intriguing to see Lively take on a character like Lady Deadpool as a new addition to her acting credits.

Seeing Reynolds and Lively getting to have comedic banter would also be refreshing, especially for Wade discovering that there are female variants of himself in the multiverse. Depending on the extent the character appears in the movie, it could also be intriguing to see her coming into contact with characters like Wolverine and other MCU players. With only a few more weeks left to go, the MCU audience will know soon enough if Lady Deadpool is in Deadpool & Wolverine and if Lively will be the one under the mask.
