“Black Widow” Returns! Scarlett Johansson Teams Up in $6 Billion Blockbuster

Scarlett Johansson may join the cast of the upcoming Jurassic World 4.

Scarlett Johansson Gets an Offer From $6 Billion Worth Movie Franchise Years After Quitting MCU as Black Widow

Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow had been one of the primary faces of the MCU’s Infinity Saga. She amassed a huge fanbase for playing Black Widow. Now, it looks like the star is all set to join a new big-budget franchise, Jurassic World. According to the latest reports, the actress has been offered a role in the upcoming film in the franchise created by Gareth Edwards.

The fans were disheartened when Black Widow had an unfortunate end in Avengers: Endgame. The character made a massive contribution to Scarlett Johansson’s career. She also holds the record for being the second highest-grossing box office star of all time. If the reports are true and if she proceeds with the Jurassic World offer, then we may see her in another billion-dollar film franchise.

Is Scarlett Johansson the new face of Jurassic World?

Jurassic Park is one of the most renowned and highest-grossing franchises of all time. Following the conclusion of the first three films, when the Jurassic World trilogy starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard was launched, it also proved to be a grand success. According to Numbers, the six films have collectively grossed over $6 billion.

As per the latest reports by scooper Jeff Sneider (via The InSneider), Scarlett Johansson has been offered a role in the upcoming film in the franchise. A few days ago only, it was reported that a new Jurassic World film is in making with Gareth Edwards as the director. The film is slated to start a fresh storyline, and it is uncertain if the existing cast would return.

Even though the Jurassic World trilogy was successful at the box office, it failed to mimic the critical reception and cult following of the first trilogy started by Steven Spielberg. With the franchise going through a reboot once again, it will be interesting to see if Gareth Edwards can provide an exciting take on the long-running franchise.

While Edwards’ works in Monsters and then Godzilla confirm that the director can make good monster flicks, his work in Rogue One proves that he can also handle tumultuous production. His latest film, The Creator, also generated positive responses and was nominated in the Oscars. With Edwards helming the project, if Scarlett Johansson joins the cast, it can be an iconic combination.

What is the title of the upcoming Jurassic World film?

According to trusted insider Daniel Richtman, the upcoming fourth Jurassic World film might be titled Jurassic City. As per the reports, the upcoming film will start a new era in the franchise. The makers will try to keep it distinguished from the rest of the franchise. The plot details of the film are not revealed yet, but it would be intriguing to watch if they can execute the idea well, or it may easily turn into another generic monster film.

The film is based on a script by David Koepp, who wrote the first two Jurassic Park films. Earlier, Gareth Edwards was not the choice for the director. It was David Leitch. However, when Leitch left the project citing creative differences, Edwards was roped in. The latter admitted that this film is his current priority, and it made him “drop everything like a stone and dive right in.”

Now, it will be seen if Scarlett Johansson is in Jurassic World 4 and if it can garner a better critical reception than Jurassic World: Dominion. The film is set to be released on July 2, 2025.
