Eyes of Wakanda teaser lasted only two seconds, but that was enough to impress Marvel fans and increase anticipation for the project.
Eyes of Wakanda has managed to impress fans after a teaser of the animated series gave fans a look into the animation style. It is an anthology series created by Todd Harris for Marvel Animation, consisting of four episodes. It tells the story of different Wakandan warriors who go on a quest to retrieve vibranium artifacts from different parts of the world.
One Thing Tells That Eyes of Wakanda Will Probably Give X-Men ’97 A Tough Competition
Fans only got to see two seconds of visuals of the new Black Panther spinoff series, Eyes of Wakanda. They seem to be loving it already, hinting that the new animated series from Marvel will probably open to a fantastic reception. Given the popularity of Wakanda among Marvel fans, the Disney+ series will be the next game-changer for Marvel Animation after X-Men ’97.
A television series in the world of Wakanda was first announced in 2021 under Black Panther director Ryan Coogler. Variety reported in 2022 that Coogler was developing not one but multiple projects set in Wakanda. However, Eyes of Wakanda was only announced last year in December. Earlier this year, Head of Marvel Television Brad Winderbaum confirmed the series, under the creation of Todd Harris (via ComicBook.com).
The recent leaked teaser suggested that the series would hit streaming in August 2025. The animation style of the series is very different from Marvel’s X-Men ’97 and What If…? series. Fans compared the style with that of Netflix’s Arcane, which has recently released its second season. Others also compared it to Blue Eye Samurai. Some of the fan reactions to the teaser read:
Unlike X-Men ’97, What If…?, or the upcoming animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Eyes of Wakanda will take place in the MCU continuity. Fans hope that the series will set the tone for the upcoming Black Panther series from Coogler.
Wonder Man and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Are Other Surprising Projects In The Line-Up
X-Men ’97 hinted that a revival of the Spider-Man animated series was bound to happen in the universe. Unlike live-action films, Marvel has full control over this project of the web-slinger, which has the unofficial title, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Fans will have to wait to see if it continues any of the previous animated Spidey storylines.
Wonder Man was believed to be canceled at the studio but it somehow made it to the lineup in the teaser. After his DC role last year, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will return to this superhero role. He’s introduced as an actor auditioning for the role of the superhero Wonder Man in the teaser of the film. Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton is the creator of this series.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will soon reach Disney+ according to the teaser, on January 25, 2025. Wonder Man will be released next Christmas on the streamer.
