Avengers 7: Kevin Feige is Bringing Back Chris Evans as Old Man Steve Rogers to Fight a New American Government of Absolute Tyranny (Marvel Theory)

Avengers 7 could bring back Chris Evans as Captain America in a dystopian world that needs to be freed from Tony Stark’s son.

There has been a slew of great Captain America storylines from Marvel over thee years. Just like Captain America: Civil War was secretly an Avengers film all along, sometimes an Avengers story doubles as a Captain America story, which is the case with one storyline, which might be perfect to bring Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, without having to de-age him.

Avengers: Twilight is an ongoing comic that has an old Steve Rogers coming out of retirement to fight the new fascist government that has taken over the United States of America, facilitated by Tony and Janet’s son, James Stark.

Steve Rogers could come out of retirement to fight Wilson Fisk’s ban on heroes

The political landscape of the United States of America has been shifting in the MCU. President Ritson has declared that all offworlders to be treated like a threat. It seems that Captain America: Brave New World will not do much to undo what Ritson has put in place, despite Thunderbolt Ross being the new president of the United States. Ross would also be transforming into Red Hulk, which further changes how the United States Government will operate going forward.

Among these issues, it has also been rumored that Daredevil: Born Again will focus on Wilson Fisk outlawing vigilantes in New York. All of these point towards a more vigilant government that would need more power in it’s hands to allow superheroes to operate.

However, given that this is the very thing that triggered a civil war between the Avengers, might prompt Steve Rogers to come out of retirement as more and more superheroes become government goons, or fall as they stage a rebellion. This is sort of the plot of Avengers: Twilight, which echoes some ideas of DC’s Kingdom Come, where Captain America finds himself being aided by a host of his ex-colleagues to restore the freedoms that he fought so hard to protect.

This film could also spotlight Captain America’s relationship with Peggy Carter

After returning the Infinity Stones and Mjolnir to their rightful place in the timeline, Chris Evans‘ Steve Rogers decided to retire with Peggy Carter in the past, finishing his character arc of letting go of the fight. However, while this was a satisfying end for the character’s storyline, it opened up a lot of questions about the timeline.

Should Marvel go with this route for the character, it could show audiences how Steve coped with staying away from world events. It could shed light on where Steve was when major crises were occurring in the world, and whether Steve is the father of Peggy’s children, or are they from a previous marriage.

Steve Rogers would have a tough time sitting around as an old man if he would see his friends and comrades get killed by a fascist government. It has been proven time and time again that age is not a factor for Steve when it comes to fighting the good fight, and Avengers: Twilight set up a storyline that the MCU could easily adapt post-Secret Wars.
