American Idol 2025 announces top celebrity judges, surprisingly a star who just left The Voice is on the list. There were rumors that Reba McEntire was going to be on American Idol but that wasn’t true.
A new season of “American Idol” is coming in 2025 with a new lineup of celebrity cast members.
Carrie Underwood will be the newest artist to join the judges table alongside returning judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan. Underwood will be replacing Katy Perry, who previously served as a judge for seven seasons.
Underwood is a former “American Idol” contestant, taking home the big win during Season Four, which launched her career in country music.
Grammy Award-winning artist Josh Groban will also join season 23 as a mentor to the top 24 contestants.
“Guess who’s mentoring on @americanidol at @disneyaulani this season?” Groban wrote on his Instagram account. “Spoiler: this guy!”
Joining Groban as a mentor at the Disney Aulani Resort is Ashanti.
The artist posted to Instagram “Big vibes on #AmericanIdol! I’m a guest mentor at @disneyaulani this year and, of course, @jellyroll615 and I are bringing the heat!!!”
Although not new to the cast of the show, Jelly Roll will be making a return to “American Idol,” this time as the show’s first-ever artist in residence.
The new season of “American Idol” will premiere at 8 p.m. Sunday on ABC.
