The residents of Serenity went through ups and downs in Sweet Magnolias season 4, but two in particular finally got their happily-ever-after after four seasons they started having feelings for one another. Sweet Magnolias season 4’s premiere sneakily introduced Cal and Maddie’s surprise Halloween wedding, shocking all the Sweet Magnolias characters attending the party and Maddie’s best friends, who weren’t in on the secret. The wedding had for Cal and Maddie the same meaning Ronnie and Dana Sue’s vow renewal ceremony had, effectively ending in the best way a romantic journey they had gone through since Sweet Magnolias season 1.

If all was good romance-wise for Maddie and Dana Sue, that wasn’t the case for Helen at the beginning of Sweet Magnolias season 4. Indeed, while Helen was in a relationship with the newcomer architect Alexander, she broke things off with him after Bill Townsend’s death in Sweet Magnolias season 4.
