Marvel Studios has introduced a number of multiversal teams to the Multiverse Saga, but there are many more in Marvel Comics that would be brilliant to see join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Following the conclusion of the MCU’s Infinity Saga with 2019’s Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home, Marvel Studios began to branch out into the vast multiverse, exploring alternate universes and introducing variants of Marvel’s most iconic characters. Loki, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, What If…?, and The Marvels have explored the multiverse, but the MCU’s upcoming projects will venture even further.
Alternate versions of many MCU characters from other realities have seen brilliant debuts in the Multiverse Saga. Spider-Man: No Way Home saw Tom Holland’s Peter Parker team up with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s versions of the wall-crawler, while Multiverse of Madness introduced Earth-838’s Illuminati team, comprising the likes of Professor X, Mister Fantastic, and Captain Carter. Earth’s Mightiest Heroes have even faced off against variants of the powerful villain Kang the Conqueror in various projects. Many of these variants have also teamed up with each other in Marvel Comics, forming massive multiversal groups that could be seen in live-action.
10. Council Of Kangs
Kang The Conqueror’s Group Has Already Been Seen In The MCU
Marvel Comics’ Council of Kangs was first seen in 1986’s Avengers #267, but the group made its MCU debut in 2023’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Comprising thousands of variants of Kang the Conqueror, the Council of Kangs poses a huge threat to the MCU, particularly after the death of Kang the Conqueror in Quantumania. The Council of Kangs is led by Immortus, Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh Rama-Tut, and a version of the Scarlet Centurion, all of whom seem to have evil intentions for the MCU.
Where Could The Council Of Kangs Return In The MCU?
Marvel Studios had been using Loki and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania to set up Kang and the Council of Kangs as huge dangers to the MCU. However, following Jonathan Majors’ 2023 arrest and conviction, Kang’s future in the MCU is uncertain. If the villain is recast, the Council of Kangs could make its next appearance in 2026’s Avengers 5, but only time will tell.
9. Spider Society
Sony Debuted The Spider Society In Its Animated Spider-Verse Franchise
The Spider Society in Marvel Comics was very different to the version depicted by Sony Animation in 2023’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The popular animated project saw Miles Morales journey across realities, and come into contact with hundreds of Spider-People from alternate universes. Led by Miguel O’Hara’s Spider-Man 2099 from Earth-928B, the Spider Society ensures canon events occur as they should, and eliminate any problems with this course of events, including Miles Morales.
Where Could The Spider Society Debut In The MCU?
There has been no word of a crossover between the MCU and Sony’s animated Spider-Verse franchise, though there may be precedence for this to happen. The Spot found himself in Venom’s live-action universe in Across the Spider-Verse, and Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock has also crossed over into the MCU. Sony’s Spider Society could appear in the MCU’s Avengers: Secret Wars, as Phase 6’s final project is expected to feature heroes from a huge number of alternate worlds.
Donald Glover also appeared as a live-action Aaron Davis, a.k.a. the Prowler, in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, after first portraying Miles Morales’ uncle in the MCU’s Spider-Man: Homecoming.
8. Council Of Red
Mephisto Has Been Heavily-Rumored To Be Joining The MCU
The Council of Red, first seen in Marvel Comics in 2020’s Avengers (Vol. 8) #35, was a collection of Mephisto variants. Mephisto is Marvel’s depiction of the devil, and a supremely powerful villain who has been heavily rumored to be joining the MCU before the end of the Multiverse Saga. The Council of Red wanted to rewrite all universes, and even brought together a team of supervillains from their various universes known as the Multiversal Masters of Evil, who were tasked with killing the protectors of their respective Earths.
Where Could The Council Of Red Debut In The MCU?
Although there’s been no confirmation, Mephisto has been rumored to be joining the MCU. Following teases in WandaVision, Loki, Multiverse of Madness and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Mephisto is speculated to debut in Marvel Studios’ upcoming Agatha or Ironheart shows. This could create the opportunity for the Council of Reds to debut, perhaps as villains for the MCU’s Midnight Sons team.
7. Council Of Watchers
More Watchers Could Be Introduced To The MCU Alongside What If…?’s
Allegedly the first beings in existence, the Watchers are a supremely powerful species who have tasked themselves with observing and compiling knowledge on everything across the multiverse without ever interfering. The Watcher Uatu regularly breaks this oath, however, and, during 1985’s Secret Wars II event, the Council of Watchers formed to thwart the Beyonder’s assault on the Marvel Universe. Since the Watchers have already appeared in the MCU, it’s possible this group could come together soon.
The Watchers first appeared in live-action in one of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’s post-credits scenes, though What If…?’s animated Watcher has had a much bigger role.
Where Could The Council Of Watchers Debut In The MCU?
Since the Council of Watchers formed in Marvel Comics to try and stop the Beyonder, a similar storyline could unfold in the MCU. What If…?’s Watcher, voiced by Jeffrey Wright, has already helped several heroes, and formed the Guardians of the Multiverse, so could have a bigger role in the MCU’s future. The Council of Watchers could be key to Avengers: Secret Wars’ storyline, which may see them band together to protect the MCU.
6. Chronos Corps
The Chronos Corps Would Transform Kang The Conqueror Into A Hero
While Kang the Conqueror has been set up as a powerful villain in the MCU’s Multiverse Saga, a potentially recast of the character could instead reinvent him as a hero. In Marvel Comics, when his adoptive children, the Apocalypse Twins, set out to eradicate Kang’s empire by destroying his timeline, the villain brought together a team of heroes from other universes that the Twins had also destroyed. The Chronos Corps would make a fantastic addition to the MCU’s multiverse stories.
Marvel Comics’ Chronos Corps comprised Kang the Conqueror, Stryfe, Venom, Iron Man 2020, Doom 2099, Ahab, Magistrate Elizabeth Braddock, Deathlok Abomination and Thor.
Where Could The Chronos Corps Debut In The MCU?
Although unconfirmed, Kang the Conqueror could be recast, which means having his original timeline eradicated could be an excellent story to tell. This would create the opportunity for the lost heroes of the Chronos Corps to debut, perhaps prior to Avengers 5. Having Kang transform into a hero, even if only briefly, would add layers of complexity to the villain, allowing a new actor to deliver a vastly different performance to Jonathan Majors.
5. Exiles
The Exiles Would Fit Perfectly In The Multiverse Saga

Having Kang transform into a hero, even if only briefly, would add layers of complexity to the villain, allowing a new actor to deliver a vastly different performance to Jonathan Majors.
Similarly to the Chronos Corps, Marvel Comics’ Exiles team comprised various heroes who had been taken out of their own realities by the Timebreakers. As the Timebreakers were pacifists by nature, they brought together the Exiles in order to repair damage in other universes, so this rag-tag team would fit perfectly into the MCU’s Multiverse Saga. The Exiles team was primarily comprised of mutant heroes associated with the X-Men, so their potential MCU debut could expand the concept of mutants in the MCU.
The original Exiles team in Marvel Comics consisted of Earth-295’s Blink, Earth-12’s Mimic, Earth-2182’s Nocturne, Earth-1100’s Thunderbird, Earth-1081’s Morph and Earth-27’s Magnus, though many other heroes were later featured on the team.
Where Could The Exiles Debut In The MCU?
Since Disney acquired 20th Century Fox in 2019, Marvel Studios has been able to introduce mutants to the MCU, but this process has been slow. 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine is set to make huge progress in this regard, and Marvel Studios’ X-Men reboot will reinvent the titular team for the MCU. Either one of these exciting projects could debut a version of the Exiles in the MCU.
4. Thor Corps
The Thor Corps Could Redeem Chris Hemsworth After Love & Thunder
Chris Hemsworth has portrayed the MCU’s Thor, the Asgardian God of Thunder, since 2011’s eponymous Thor, and he is currently the only MCU hero to have four solo feature films. However, after Thor: Love and Thunder’s disappointing performance in Phase 4, the character is due another reinvention, and introducing the Thor Corps could accomplish this. This multiversal group of Thor variants had a huge part to play in Marvel Comics’ Secret Wars event in 2015, so could be crucial to the MCU.
Where Could The Thor Corps Debut In The MCU?
In 2015’s Secret Wars storyline, the Thor Corps acted as God Emperor Doom’s police force on Battleworld, which was formed after huge incursions destroyed the multiverse. If this storyline plays out in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Secret Wars, the Thor Corps would be an excellent addition, showcasing many interesting variants of the God of Thunder. This could also be a great opportunity for Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor to return.
3. Captain Britain Corps
Captain Britain Has Been Teased For The MCU
Where Could The Captain Britain Debut In The MCU?
Captain Britain is the signature hero of the United Kingdom in Marvel Comics, so he could appear alongside British heroes Dane Whitman’s Black Knight and Blade in the MCU’s future. Brian Braddock’s sister, Betsy, is also the powerful X-Men member Psylocke, so the MCU’s X-Men reboot could introduce these formidable siblings. Former DCEU Superman actor Henry Cavill has been heavily speculated to be cast as the MCU’s Captain Britain, though this hasn’t yet been confirmed.
2. Deadpool Corps
Deadpool Is Joining The MCU In Phase 5
First seen in 2010’s Prelude to Deadpool Corps #1 in Marvel Comics, the Deadpool Corps was a multiversal team comprised of variants of the fourth wall-breaking antihero. The team first formed to battle an entity known as the Awareness, which threatened the entire multiverse, but later found themselves battling Dreadpool and the Evil Deadpool Corps. Unfortunately, this ended with the demise of almost every Deadpool variant, though contributed to some incredibly entertaining and hilarious moments.
Where Could The Deadpool Corps Debut In The MCU?
Ryan Reynolds first appeared as Wade Wilson’s Deadpool in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but reinvented the character in Fox’s more-recent Deadpool franchise. Reynolds will be joining the MCU permanently in 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine, but the multiversal storyline of the upcoming Phase 5 movie has already been confirmed to include other Deadpool variants. New Deadpool & Wolverine promo art has teased the inclusion of Kidpool, Headpool, and Lady Deadpool, hinting at the Deadpool Corps’ debut.
1. Interdimensional Council Of Reeds
The Council Of Reeds Would Be The Best Counterpart To The Council Of Kangs
First seen in 2009’s Fantastic Four #570, the Interdimensional Council of Reeds comprised variants of Reed Richards’ Mister Fantastic, the leader of the Fantastic Four. These variants each created the “Bridge”, allowing them to meet in the hopes of solving “everything.” The Council was founded by the Infinity Gauntlet-wielding Reed-12498, Reed-98570 and Reed-99107, and built their base in the space between universes, which has already been seen in Phase 4’s Multiverse of Madness.
Where Could The Interdimensional Council Of Reeds Debut In The MCU?
The Interdimensional Council of Reeds could be the perfect counterpart to the Council of Kangs in the MCU, as Reed Richards and Kang are distantly related in Marvel Comics. Luckily, there have already been several live-action versions of Reed Richards prior to Pedro Pascal’s debut in The Fantastic Four. This means that Alex Hyde-White, Ioan Gruffudd, Miles Teller, John Krasinski and Pedro Pascal could form the Council of Reeds in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Alex Hyde-White portrayed Reed Richards in 1994’s unreleased The Fantastic Four, Ioan Gruffudd played the hero in 2005’s Fantastic Four and its 2007 sequel, Rise of the Silver Surfer, while Miles Teller appeared as Reed Richards in 2015’s Fantastic Four. John Krasinski portrayed Earth-838’s Mister Fantastic in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
