You’ll have to knock on XO producer Kitty’s door after news of the season’s renewal broke

Showrunner Jessica O’Toole promises “kissing. Lots of kissing.”

Roses are red. Violets are blue. There’s a third season of XO, Kitty in store for you!

That’s right, XO, Kitty has been renewed for Season 3 and class will be back in session at the Korean Independent School of Seoul for senior year. But first, a summer of love is on the horizon for Kitty Song Covey (Anna Cathcart) and her friends.

“I’m so excited to head back to Seoul for another season with our incredible cast and crew. If you thought junior year at KISS brought the drama, just wait,” XO, Kitty showrunner and executive producer Jessica O’Toole tells Tudum.

Season 2 ended with Kitty getting her scholarship renewed so she can come back to KISS for senior year. She also fulfilled her late mother’s wishes by reuniting her fractured family, discovering relatives she never even knew existed.

And, much to her surprise, this teen matchmaker fell for her ex-boyfriend’s best friend, Min Ho (Sang Heon Lee), ticking off almost every trope on the rom-com checklist as they went from enemies to friends to could-be lovers. Though their slow-burn romance is still simmering, Kitty asks Min Ho to wait before they part ways for the summer.

“I know we left fans on a cliffhanger at the end of Season 2, but I can promise Season 3 will be worth the wait, including our first summer episode — not to mention plenty of romance, friendship, adventure … and kissing,” says O’Toole. “Lots of kissing.”

See a video of Cathcart below holding the script for the first episode of the upcoming third season.

As most XO, Kitty fans know, the series is a spin-off inspired by the popular To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before film franchise, which was based on creator and executive producer Jenny Han’s novels of the same name.

XO, Kitty Season 2 premiered on Jan. 16 and debuted at No. 2 on the English TV List with 14.2 million views. The young adult romantic comedy, produced by Awesomeness Studios and ACE Entertainment, appeared in the Top 10 in 89 countries in its first week. The release also inspired viewers to revisit Season 1 (which resurfaced on the English TV List at No. 6 with 3.1 million views) and the original 2018 To All the Boys film the week after Season 2’s release (which reappeared at No. 6 on the English films list with 3.1 million views).

Keep coming back to Tudum to learn more about where all the KISS lovebirds go from here. In the meantime, relive all the K-drama of XO, Kitty Season 2, only on Netflix.

Kitty Song-Covey (Anna Cathcart) and Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo) embrace outside school.
