Sasha Bhasin plays Praveena, a queer Indian student at the Korean Independent School of Seoul (KISS). New to the world of XO, Kitty in season 2, she expressed interest in dating Kitty but was leery because it was clear Kitty still had feelings for Yuri. Fans instantly fell in love with the character of Praveena due to her fun-loving nature, despite admitting that she may not be the best influence on Kitty after she encouraged the protagonist to break into the archive mid-season.

Sasha Bhasin & XO, Kitty’s Praveena Both Love Pushing Boundaries
“I kind of love that Praveena was a little bit of an enabler there.”

Sasha Bhasin: Oh my goodness, joining this cast was like a dream. I mean, everyone is so cool and fun. The pictures and the behind-the-scenes that we’ve all been posting? It really is as fun as it looks. It was amazing.
ScreenRant: Praveena pushes Kitty to break into the archives. Do you think she is a bad influence on her?
Sasha Bhasin: That’s very me-coded too; pushing boundaries, having fun, playing a little bit, and kind of teetering the line. I think it’s a lot of fun, and it’s harmless. I mean, Kitty has these outrageous plot lines and goals and things that she wants to do. And I kind of love that Praveena was a little bit of an enabler there.
Sasha Bhasin Would Not Have Been As Nice As Praveena About That Kiss In XO, Kitty Season 2
“She’s dragged Praveena all the way up to the ski cabin and loves somebody else. Come on, girl.”

ScreenRant: Kitty thought that Praveena was going to be her first kiss with a girl, but she wasn’t. Were you disappointed at all when you read the script?
Sasha Bhasin: I mean, yeah. Not disappointed, as I think that it makes sense given the backstory between Kitty and Yuri. I think that it was an obviously very messy moment when they kissed, but I think it makes a lot of sense.
ScreenRant: Do you agree with Praveena’s reaction to finding out?
Sasha Bhasin: I think Praveena was very nice, in my opinion. Sasha would have reacted a little bit differently because Kitty promised her at the queer club that it was not going to be like that with Yuri. And then now she’s dragged Praveena all the way up to the ski cabin and loves somebody else. Like, come on! Come on, girl.

ScreenRant: How did you feel when you read the letter Kitty wrote Yuri?
Sasha Bhasin: I loved it. I think that the messy stuff is part of the show, and that it’s what makes it so great. It keeps you on a ride, and it keeps you guessing, so you don’t know who’s going to end up with who or what’s going to happen. I think it was really great. The writers are just so amazing.
ScreenRant: Which relationship, besides Praveena and Kitty, were you most excited to see explored in season 3?
Sasha Bhasin: I honestly really loved Eunice and Dae. I think that that was so cute, and it was so funny. And then, obviously, Kitty and Min Ho. The ultimate ship. I don’t know if I wanted more, but I want them to kiss.
Will Praveena & Juliana’s Relationship Be Explored In XO, Kitty Season 3?
“I’d love to see that unfold and have Praveena get a happy ending.”

ScreenRant: That could happen. Things are left off with the possibility of a season 3. Would you come back?
Sasha Bhasin: I hope so. If they’ll have me, I’ll be there in Seoul. You don’t have to pull my leg.
ScreenRant: Would you like to see Praveena and Kitty rekindle things?
Sasha Bhasin: Honestly, I just love to see Praveena and Kitty as friends working things out. I’d love everybody to just get along. I think that would be great, but the drama is part of it.
Sasha Bhasin: Praveena has such an interesting backstory, right? We’ve kind of hinted at the fact that her parents are in the CIA, and she’s willing to break rules. I would love to see her get into more heists and really explore her character.
As well as her relationship with Juliana, which I think is really interesting. I love these two characters so much, so I’d love to see that unfold and have Praveena get a happy ending.
