Eminem, born Marshall Mathers, is predicted to knock Taylor Swift off of the top of the Billboard 200 with his new album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce), per HITS Daily Double.

This news doesn’t sit well with fans of The Tortured Poets Department artist, 34. When Pop Base, posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) “The Death of Slim Shady by Eminem is aiming for a #1 debut on the Billboard 200 with 300k+ units,” the Swifties were quick to respond.

“TAYLOR RELEASE THOSE VINYLS,” one fan tweeted, while another shared, “He will ruin Taylor’s streak if she doesn’t release the rainbow version or whatever the name is gonna be.” Another person posted, “For the first time… I actually want Taylor to block someone.” There were also Eminem fans in the comments, posting, “300k with no physicals that’s why he’s the goat.”

Swifties also took on Eminem in January 2024, when they complained on social media about the rapper being shown during the broadcast of a football game between the Detroit Lions and the Los Angeles Rams.

Of course, it wasn’t actually about Eminem, so much as it was trying to prove that football fans were only mad Swift was being shown at NFL games because she is a woman.

“Omg they showed Eminem again in the stands! It’s ridiculous and I’m so offended! They’re ruining football,” one fan posted on X, referring to all the complaints that Swift supporting boyfriend Travis Kelce at games was “ruining football.” Another fan posted, “Why is it okay for Eminem to rock out and cheer at NFL games, but if Taylor Swift does it, it’s distracting? #Swifties.”

Eminem’s new album is off to quite the start, with Hot 97 reporting on Monday, July 15 that it debuted on Spotify with 63 million streams on its opening day. The release of the 12th studio album marks his biggest streaming debut yet. Ahead of its release, Eminem, 51, advised fans how to enjoy his latest album.

“Public service announcement: the ‘death of slim shady’ is a conceptual album, therefore, if you listen to songs out of order they might not make sense. Enjoy,” the rapper posted on X.

The Detroit native has been promoting the album in elaborate ways, such as an obituary in the Detroit Free Press and a wake at the album release party. Eminem also partnered with White Castle fast food chain to release “White Rapper” merchandise.
