WARNING: A lot of Netflix users are exploding with the same thought after watching all of Missing You

Rosalind Elezar as Kat Donovan in Missing You

WARNING: This article contains spoilers. Swathes of Netflix users have all expressed the exact same thoughts after binge-watching the thriller Missing You

Tired of doom-scrolling Netflix while complaining that there’s nothing new to watch? This gripping thriller might be worth your watch.

Released on New Year’s Day, Missing You is a limited-series with just five episodes, making it perfect for those with TV commitment issues. It revolves around Detective Kat Donovan (Rosalind Eleazar) who matches on a dating app with her fiancé, Josh, who vanished from her life 11 years prior.

“Kat soon realises that Josh (Ashley Walters) might be connected to a missing persons case she’s investigating, as well as her father’s murder,” a Netflix teaser reads. “Now with more questions than ever, Kat begins to wonder who she can trust as she tries to uncover what really happened.” Scoring a somewhat respectable 6.1/10 on IMDB, this show has hooked viewers across the nation – leaving them all saying the exact same thing. Naturally, you might want to look away if you don’t want the thriller’s plot twists being exposed.

In the short five episodes, a lot happens. Just to briefly recap those still reeling from the ending, which aptly comes to a close with the song Missing You by John Waite, Kat starts piecing together that Josh was involved in her father’s death. It emerges he had an affair before he was killed, and that he was working for a notorious crime boss. The ending shows Kat and Josh sat on a bed together, after he confirmed he’d accidentally killed her father. With tears in her eyes, Kat looks into the distance, but the ending is abrupt as she touches her hand against his, indicating a potential air of forgiveness.

Swathes of social media users couldn’t help share their thoughts following the series of plot twists. Taking to X (formerly Twitter) one user wrote: “Missing You on Netflix is one of them shows that make you jump out of your seat CAUSE WTF IS HAPPENING?” Another agreed, commenting: “Just finished ‘Missing you’ on Netflix and wtf..” A third added: “Missing You on Netflix was good until the plot started to unravel. They lost it I fret,” while a fourth penned: “Missing You on Netflix… crazy. Like I knew who the killer was but the reason he was killed…? NUTS!”

Others were less critical of the show, with a plethora of X users describing it as ‘amazing’ and calling for a second series. However, it’s clear this won’t be happening. “Like all of Harlan Coben’s previous Netflix shows, Missing You is a limited series,” said IMDB. “This means it was designed to be a self-contained series with a complete story told within a single season. While some may argue that the show ended in a way where more story could be told, that’s just not going to happen. The mystery thriller pretty much ended the same way the Missing You book did.”
