Peter Sutherland and Night Action spend the season pursuing intelligence that was sold to an unknown buyer at a deal in Bangkok. The initial mission to retrieve the intel went awry, forcing them to shift to alternate options. They track the broker to the Iranian embassy, where Noor has already been providing information to the US Government in hopes of earning asylum for herself and her family, who still live in Iran. This gives her and Night Action a common goal, but an unfortunate sequence of events leads to tragedy.
Farhad Didn’t Trust Sami Despite Noor’s Plan To Bring Her Family To New York In The Night Agent
Farhad Didn’t Fully Understand The Situation

Farhad and Noor’s mother, Azita, are extracted from Isfahan, Iran, by an agent named Sami. Sami seems like a decent enough fellow, but Farhad immediately distrusts him upon his arrival. This is partially due to the fact that Azita hasn’t properly informed of the plan, instead hoping he would just go along with it. Unfortunately, Farhad quickly becomes confused and freaks out along the road, especially after the three of them are stopped by Iranian police.
There are a number of things that went wrong here, making it hard to fully blame any one party for what transpired.
Why Farhad Wanted To Stay In Iran
Farhad Had A Life He Would Be Leaving Behind

Farhad’s position in The Night Agent season 2 is brief but nuanced, examining how a teenager might view a situation like this. To him, the stakes aren’t as significant as what an adult viewer might be able to see. His priorities are his social life and his girlfriend, and he doesn’t really understand the situation at hand or why Noor would want to have him extracted. Given that he planned on joining the army, he might even have been raised to have particular views that would make him loyal to his country.
