XO, Kitty season two has landed on Netflix with a few new faces joining the cast and even more scenic Seoul filming locations
An XO, Kitty star has revealed the ‘beautiful’ filming location that brought him to tears.
The Netflix romance drama is back for its second season and follows self-proclaimed matchmaker Kitty Covey as she navigates life at Korean Independent School of Seoul.
With the new year comes new faces, including Joshua Lee, who plays the controversial character Jin.
Joshua is joined by returning stars Anna Cathcart as Kitty, Minyeong Choi as Dae and Sang Heon Lee as Min Ho.
The latest season picks up with the crew back in school as Kitty comes to terms with being single, after a shocking breakup with Dae at the end of season one.
Although the story sees the 16-year-old embarking on a new journey of self-discovery, the latest series was once again filmed on location in Seoul, Korea. However, there was one site that struck a chord with the cast.

Speaking to The Mirror ahead of the season premiere, Joshua divulged that there are ‘two distinct’ filming locations that he will always remember.
“For the final episode, they built a stage in the courtyard of a palace, which is absurd. They did such an amazing job and I just don’t really know how they did that, but I remember we filmed until sunrise,” he revealed.
The season two finale sees Dae taking a leap into musical arts and performing in front of his classmates. The Netflix star continued, recalling an emotional moment that happened on set.
“Maybe we were a little bit delirious and sleep deprived, but filming at the palace was, it was just so beautiful. It was my last day on set and I got to watch the sunrise with my castmates and I remember crying. It was just so beautiful,” he said.
The beloved dramedy has built a reputation for featuring scenic Seoul locations, including Gyeongbokgung Palace, which viewers will remember from season one.

The New York-based actor, who also stars in the BBC’s Gangham Project, went on to share the second location that has been ‘ingrained’ in his mind.
“I filmed my first scene at an actual queer club in Itaewon. All the background actors were patrons of that club or bartenders. I thought the production designers did an incredible job. It was my first day and what a first day to step into – that will always be ingrained in my mind.”
Joshua’s character is revealed to be gay early in the season, when Kitty’s friendship group see him at a queer club. The run-in leads to Jin and Q (Anthony Keyvan) sparking a romance that develops over the next eight episodes.
According to Joshua, the real-life location featured in the scene was club MWG, located in Seoul’s commercial district Itaewon, which is known for its popular LGBTQ+ bars.
