Victoria Neuman’s daughter will have a big role to play in The Boys season 4. Victoria is the Vice Presidential candidate, and she is secretly a Supe and a Vought ally. Despite her allegiance to Stan Edgar, she betrayed him in exchange for Compound V in season 3. After injecting her daughter, Zoe, Victoria hoped that the dosage would help her daughter to become a Supe in the upcoming The Boys season 4.
In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, Claudia Doumit (Victoria Neuman) and The Boys creator Eric Kripke spoke about the role that Zoe will play going forward. As Zoe continues to develop as a teenager and a person, Victoria will need to reckon with how she can protect her daughter from the dangers of Vought’s world. Check out their quotes below:
Screen Rant: Claudia, we saw Victoria betray her adoptive father for her daughter last season. What family dynamics might come into play this season?
Claudia Doumit: Ooh, I haven’t been asked that yet. Oh, wait, I have to answer in a vague kind of way. I mean, I know there’s a lot happening there. Listen, she’s a developing, blossoming teenager. She’s going through some transitions there.
Eric Kripke: She’s dealing with protecting her daughter. The world is getting scarier and scarier, and as she grows ever closer to power, I think she’s realizing that she’s made quite the devil’s bargain. And so, then her interest becomes: how does she save herself and her little girl?
Zoe Will Have A Larger Role In The Boys Season 4
Zoe Neuman Has Not Been An Especially Important Character
After having been injected with Compound V, Zoe Neuman will likely become a Supe in The Boys season 4. There is no way to know what her powers will be, as superpowers can be heritable, but there is no outright guarantee that heritability will happen. There are already two characters with Victoria’s powers, as both Victoria and Gen V‘s Marie Moreau share the power to manipulate human blood. Having three characters with the same seemingly unique power would be redundant, and it would add little to the narrative.
Regardless of what power Zoe develops, Zoe’s relationship with her mother is likely to change forever. Zoe trusted Victoria, but she was terrified about the pain that the injection would cause. Tragically, the injection was traumatizing, and she was left in extreme agony despite her mother’s assurance that she would be alright. Even more terrifying is the fact that Victoria turned on Zoe’s adoptive grandfather and publicly betrayed him in favor of Homelander. Teenagers often fight with their parents, but Zoe has many understandable reasons to rebel.Butcher’s team has finally realized that Victoria is dangerous, as The Boys season 3’s finale featured her running for president. If they reveal the danger to Zoe, they may earn another ally, so Victoria could be left working against her daughter while still trying to keep her safe. Homelander has already threatened Zoe’s safety, should Victoria stray from his directed path. The Neuman family is in extreme danger, and the different factions in the show will be vying to bring Zoe Neuman to their side in The Boys season 4.
The Boys season 4 premieres on Prime Video on June 13.
