The updated Model Y debuts on our shores with a limited-production Launch Series featuring all-wheel drive and up to 320 miles of range.
The 2025 Tesla Model Y is now on sale in the United States with a starting price of $61,630.
That price is for the limited-production Launch Series, which includes standard all-wheel drive and Full Self-Driving (Supervised).
The facelifted Model Y—codenamed Juniper—is rated for up to 320 miles of range, but opting for the bigger 20-inch wheels drops it to 303 miles.
Just last week, Tesla’s long-awaited Model Y makeover broke cover, and now it’s on sale in the United States. The redesigned Model Y (codenamed Juniper) is now listed on Tesla’s U.S. consumer site. However, the only new model that’s available to order is the Launch Series, which is a limited-production model that starts at $61,630.
Launching the Model Y Juniper
Since the Launch Series comes standard with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain and the Long Range battery, less expensive Model Y models will go on sale at a later date. For those who get their hands on the Launch Series, it comes with Tesla’s rebranded Full Self-Driving (Supervised) system and a feature called “Acceleration Boost.” It also has unique badging on areas such as the rear liftgate, door sills, and puddle lamps that let everyone know it’s a special edition.

Tesla doesn’t list the Model Y Launch Series’s power outputs, but the company claims the electric compact SUV can hit 60 mph in 4.1 seconds on its way to a top speed of 125 mph. Its EPA-estimated range is 320 miles when equipped with the standard 19-inch wheels, but opting for the bigger 20-inchers drops that figure to 303 miles.
Inside, the Model Y Launch Series is available with either an all-black or a two-tone black-and-white appearance. There’s a 15.4-inch center touchscreen, heated and ventilated front seats, and an 8.0-inch display for rear-seat passengers. There’s also a 15-speaker sound system and an additional exterior camera, with the new front-facing unit bringing the total to eight. As with the recently redesigned Tesla Model 3, the Juniper benefits from myriad improvements to its connectivity software, suspension, and interior sound-deadening.

Model Y Juniper Options and Price
The Launch Series starts at $61,630 with the aforementioned standard features. There are four paint colors to choose from, including Ultra Red, and the upsized wheels are a no-cost option. The same goes for the tow hitch offered with the standard towing package that lets the Model Y pull up to 3500 pounds.
As for availability, it’s currently unclear how many Launch Series models Tesla plans to build. We’ll also have to wait and see when more affordable models join the lineup, as we expect a rear-wheel-drive and Performance variant. Those are currently offered with the outgoing Model Y, which is still available to order on Tesla’s website.
