Snoop Dogg has expressed that sharing the stage with Eminem and Dr. Dre at the Super Bowl halftime show doesn’t cause him any stress. The veteran rapper mentioned that while he might feel anxious, it would only be after their performance is over.
“For me, when performing, I never let the moment be bigger than me,” Snoop Dogg stated in a recent interview with The Associated Press.
On February 13, 2022, Snoop Dogg will join Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and Mary J. Blige on stage during the Super Bowl halftime show—the annual championship game of the National Football League.
The rapper, who previously collaborated with Sơn Tùng M-TP, added: “What does this mean? I don’t even know how to describe it. While performing, I enter my own musical zone. I’ll be there with the script, lasers, focusing on sound, visuals, and in a really good state to deliver a great performance.
After that, I’ll be eager to see how the audience reacts. But at least before and during the performance, I’m not afraid at all.”
Snoop Dogg described participating in the Super Bowl performance in his hometown as a “dream come true.” He also expressed his desire to share the stage with legendary musicians who have been his friends for decades.
“All of us are one. We’re all united,” the 50-year-old rapper said. “If you truly understand the message this performance conveys, the world needs to understand that we need to come closer together instead of tearing apart or dividing.”
Snoop Dogg emphasized that their performance holds special significance for the history of hip-hop culture. Other rap artists who have performed at the Super Bowl include Travis Scott, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Queen Latifah, Nelly, and Big Boi.
Snoop Dogg previously appeared in the music video for “Hãy Trao Cho Anh” by Sơn Tùng M-TP.
