Salma Hayek Prepares for Olympic Torch Lighting Listening to Eminem

Eminem helped Salma Hayek prepare for the Olympic Torch Relay ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

On Tuesday, July 23, Hayek, 57, became one of the latest celebrities to take part in the special tradition as she donned a white tracksuit with orange detailing in Versailles.

Ahead of her appearance, the House of Gucci star shared to Instagram a clip of herself singing along to Eminem’s 2002 smash hit “Lose Yourself” in the back of a car, pumping herself up en route to the torch.

The footage was just some of the documentation Hayek made to mark the milestone moment.

Her post also included a handful of pictures from the day. She was dressed in the official Olympics torch rally gear, an all-white ensemble with “Paris 2024 “on the back alongside the iconic Olympic rings.

There was also video of Hayek — who is married to French business magnate François-Henri Pinault — doing a cartwheel in the what appeared to be the Palace of Versailles. She was given her A25 badge in a further clip.

Another photo was snapped as Hayek posed the middle of dancer Mathieu Forget and French soccer player Presnel Kimpembe. A final picture captured Hayek standing in a garden while making her hands into a love heart.

“Getting ready to participate in the Olympic torch relay in Paris! Feeling the excitement and unity the Olympics brings. Stay tuned for more photos with the torch tomorrow🌟,” Hayek captioned the post.

Per a Paris 2024 press release, the Frida star took the torch on “a stroll through the Château de Versailles palace.”

“At the end of the day, tennis player Caroline Garcia, who boasts 11 singles titles on the WTA circuit, lit the cauldron at the celebration venue in Versailles before the large crowds of spectators!” the release added.

The Olympic Flame is a symbol of continuity between the ancient and modern games. It has been lit in a ceremony in Olympia, Greece, ahead of every Games since Berlin 1936, when the Olympic Torch Relay first began, according to Olympics.com. The relay, inspired by the torch races of Ancient Greece, begins when the flame is transported to the host country.

After sailing across the Mediterranean, this year’s flame arrived in Marseille in May for the 2024 Paris Games before embarking on a journey across France and even French overseas regions in South America, the Caribbean and the Indian and Pacific Oceans.

On Tuesday, Mayor of Saint-Denis Mathieu Hanotin revealed in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) that Snoop Dogg, 52, had been selected as the final torchbearer before the opening ceremony on Friday, July 26.
