The incredible thriller series is back, and Jack Reacher isn’t messing around.
Following the adventures of former military policeman Jack Reacher, the Amazon Prime Video series Reacher has emerged as one of the best action/thriller series on TV. If you’re a longtime fan of Lee Child and his unique literary creation, then the style and world of Reacher are totally familiar: Reacher is a no-nonsense, slightly old-school hero. He can be cold and calculating, but he’s got a very specific moral compass, and he can take down bad guys like nobody else.
If you’re not familiar with Reacher’s badassery—played brilliantly by Alan Ritchson—the nice thing about the series (and the books) is you can pick it up pretty much anywhere you want. Like great detective novels or spy stories, many of Reacher’s narrative arcs are self-contained. With Reacher Season 3, we’re about to dive into the events of the 2003 Lee Child novel Persuader. Here’s what you need to know about the cast, the fast-approaching release date, and the story of Reacher Season 3.
Reacher Season 3 Release Date

Sonya Cassidy as Susan Duffy and Alan Ritchson as Jack Reacher in ‘Reacher’ Season 3.

The third season of Reacher will debut on Amazon Prime Video on Thursday, February 20. The first three episodes will debut all at once and, generally speaking, Prime Video shows become available to stream around 8:00 PM EST.
How Many Episodes Are in Reacher Season 3?

Maria Sten as Frances Neagley and Alan Ritchson as Jack Reacher in ‘Reacher’ Season 3.
Prime Video
Reacher Season 3 will consist of eight episodes in total, which means after the three-episode premiere, we’ve got five weeks of one new episode dropping every Thursday after February 20. This means the final episode will air on March 27, 2025.
Reacher Season 3 Trailer
The full-length trailer for Reacher Season 3 dropped on January 8, 2025, and it also confirmed the release date of the new season at the same time, which is February 20. In it, we see Jack Reacher confronting a shadowy figure from his past, and also being recruited to infiltrate a crime organization led by an old enemy named Quinn (Brian Tee). Much of the trailer makes a point of showing how small Reacher is next to Paulie, played by the massive bodybuilder Olivier Richters, known in some real-life circles as “The Dutch Giant.”
The trailer also re-teams Reacher with his former military pal Frances Neagley (Maria Sten), as well as introduces new DEA handler Susan Duffy (Sonya Cassidy).
Reacher Season 3 Cast

Brian Tee as Quinn and Olivier Richters as Paulie in ‘Reacher’ Season 3.
Prime Video
Because the third season of Reacher is based on Lee Child’s seventh book in the series —Persuader—there are a number of new characters. Here’s who’s who in Reacher Season 3.
Alan Ritchson as Jack Reacher
Sonya Cassidy as Susan Duffy (new this season, Reacher’s partner for this particular mission.)
Olivier Richters as Paulie (a formidable bodyguard character)
Brian Tee as Quinn (a shady figure from Reacher’s past)
Maria Sten as Frances Neagle (Reacher’s longtime colleague and ally)
Anthony Michael Hall as Zachary Beck (a rug importer who Reacher is investigating)
Johnny Berchtold as Richard Beck (a college kid and son of Zachary Beck)
Daniel David Stewart as Steven Elliot (in the book DEA Agent, though it looks like ATF here)
Robert Montesinos as Guillermo Villanueva (another agent who, in the book, was Susan’s mentor)
Reacher Season 3 Plot

Reacher (Alan Ritchson) taking it to the streets in ‘Reacher’ Season 3.
Prime Video
In the novel, Reacher gets himself involved in a complicated DEA operation to investigate Zachary Beck, a rug importer/exporter in Maine, who’s suspected of running a front for a much bigger criminal enterprise. In the book, there’s a very specific plot point involving the DEA and ATF overlapping, which it appears might happen in this season, too.
Reacher’s primary motivation though, is all about tracking down Quinn, whom Reacher knows committed heinous crimes while working as a military intelligence officer. This suggests that just like in the book, some of the new season will take place in flashbacks.
In the trailer, Reacher thinks Quinn should be dead, meaning that Quinn’s resurfacing makes this story partially about Reacher getting revenge and justice. The other detail is that in the book Reacher forms an unlikely friendship with the younger member of the Beck family, Richard. This complicates the story in the book, and it looks like it will make for a new, unique dynamic in Season 3. Like the two previous seasons, it seems like Reacher will be more faithful to the source material than not. And, if there’s one action show we can count on to deliver the goods, it’s this one.
