Reacher fans will soon be able to add the latest season of the Prime Video action series to their physical media collection. Paramount has revealed that Reacher Season 2 will be released on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD this September.
Per Collider, Reacher Season 2 will be released on Blu-ray and DVD by Paramount Home Entertainment on Sept. 17, 2024. The series will also be available on 4K UHD, but only as a manufactured-on-demand option. The release will feature all eight episodes from the sophomore season on two discs. Alan Ritchson headlines Reacher Season 2 as its titular former military police officer/drifter Jack Reacher, with Maria Sten, Serinda Swan, Shaun Sipos, Ferdinand Kingsley, Domenick Lombardozzi, and Robert Patrick also starring. What Happens in Reacher Season 2?
The second season of Reacher was released weekly from Dec. 15, 2023, to Jan. 19, 2024, adapting Lee Child’s eleventh Jack Reacher novel, Bad Luck and Trouble. Season 2 was hugely successful for Prime Video, ranking as the #1 title on the streamer across all movies and series worldwide for 2023. In Reacher Season 2, per the official synopsis, “Veteran military police investigator Jack Reacher receives a coded message that the members of his former U.S. Army unit, the 110th MP Special Investigations, are being mysteriously and brutally murdered one by one. Pulled from his drifter lifestyle, Reacher reunites with three of his former teammates turned chosen family to investigate.”
The synopsis continues, “Together, they begin to connect the dots in a mystery where the stakes get higher at every turn, and that brings about questions of who has betrayed them—and who will die next. Using his inimitable blend of smarts and size, Reacher will stop at nothing to uncover the truth and protect the members of his unit. If there’s one thing Reacher and his team know for certain, it’s that you do not mess with the Special Investigators. This season, get ready for Reacher and the 110th to hit back hard.”
Reacher Season 3 Adapts Persuader
Season 3 of Reacher will adapt the fan-favorite novel Persuader, the seventh entry in author Lee Child’s beloved series. Published in 2003, Persuader takes place in Maine, following the title character going undercover to rescue an informant being held by a haunting foe from his past. Maria Sten, who appeared in the first two seasons, is set to return as Frances Neagley (who was absent in the novel).
New additions to the cast include Anthony Michael Hall (The Breakfast Club), Sonya Cassidy (The Man Who Fell to Earth), Brian Tee (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows), Johnny Berchtold (The Passenger), Roberto Montesinos (Father Stu), Daniel David Stewart (For All Mankind), and Olivier Richters (Black Widow). Production on Season 3 began ahead of the Season 2 premiere last December and is rumored to have wrapped before July 2024.
The first two seasons of Reacher are available to stream on Prime Video, while Season 3 is expected to premiere in 2025.
