Drizzy’s next verse comes on Gordo’s upcoming Diamante album.

The fallout from Drake’s feud with Kendrick Lamar hasn’t put a damper on his summer. According to his Honestly, Nevermind collaborator Gordo, the producer hasn’t seen Drake happier.

Gordo, formerly known as Carnage, provided an update on the 6 God’s state of mind during a conversation with People in an interview published on Wednesday (July 24).

“Ever since all this has happened … I’ve seen him happier. It’s really weird. He’s pretty jolly,” Gordo said. “The internet makes it seem like, ‘Oh, that photo, he’s all sad and s–t.’ That’s just a bad photo from a bad camera. But because it’s him, it’s put under a magnifying glass like, ‘Oh, look at his eyes. He’s looking a little droopy. He hasn’t slept.’ But the guy’s been happy as s–t, to be honest. He’s chilling.”

The Grammy-nominated producer claims Drake has moved on from the battle with K. Dot and is ready to focus on himself again. “He’s been past it,” Gordo added. “The thing is that he was just on the longest tour ever. He literally did a tour for like a year. I think he’s just chilling.”

Billboard has reached out to Drake’s reps for comment.

Fans have a magnifying glass awaiting Drizzy’s next move this summer. He previously lent guest appearances to Sexyy Red and Camila Cabello’s albums. Next up, the OVO boss reunites with Gordo for “Sideways,” which will land on the producer’s Diamante album arriving on Friday (July 26).

Drake and Gordo have a rich collaborative history. They teamed up on For All the Dogs cuts “Rich Baby Daddy” and “Gently,” while Gordo earned six production credits on 2022’s house-leaning Honestly, Nevermind.

“I’ve never had someone value my opinion at such a high level, and it’s dope,” Gordo raved about Drake leaning on his expertise. “It’s beautiful to be appreciated by someone who literally is the greatest to ever do it, at least for our lifetime.”
