Prince Harry has spoken out about his wife Meghan Markle’s on-screen romps in Suits – and it’s safe to say he wasn’t exactly a fan of her steamy scenes with Patrick J Adams
Before Meghan Markle became the Duchess of Sussex when she married Prince Harry in 2018, she was turning heads as Rachel Zane in the hit US legal show Suits, where her character’s steamy romance with Mike Ross, played by Patrick J Adams, was a favourite storyline among fans.
Prince Harry has since spoken of his reaction to those racy scenes involving his now-wife. In his bombshell memoir ‘Spare’, he admits to watching Meghan’s love scenes and describes one particular moment from the season two finale that left him feeling like he needed “electric shock therapy” to erase it from his memory. Harry didn’t hold back in Spare when discussing the impact of seeing Meghan’s intimate Suits moments, saying, “I’d witnessed her and a castmate mauling each other in some sort of office or conference room. I didn’t need to see such things live.” He even joked about needing “electric shock therapy” to deal with the images etched into his mind.
Meghan’s on-screen antics reportedly saw a change once she got involved with Prince Harry. According to Tom Bower in his book ‘Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War between the Windsors’, the Palace intervened, suggesting that “the Palace stepped in to control Meghan’s life”.
He revealed: “Scripts were thereafter forwarded to Kensington Palace for approval. Orders for changes of words were sent back from London to Los Angeles. The most important demand concerned Meghan’s last scene at her ‘wedding’ to Mike. No photographs, the Palace ordered, were to be shot of Meghan wearing a wedding dress. Between filming, she was always to wear a jacket over the dress. The atmosphere in the studio changed.”

Having been introduced to Prince Harry in 2016, the Duke of Sussex is set to celebrate his eighth birthday with Meghan Markle by his side this Sunday as he turns 40. And the Prince has said he is “excited” about the milestone.
He told the BBC in a statement: “I was anxious about 30, I’m excited about 40. Whatever the age, my mission is to continue showing up and doing good in the world”.
Harry plans to celebrate his birthday with Meghan and their children Prince Archie, five, and three-year-old Princess Lilibet, in California before heading off on holiday with a group of his closest friends. And the Invictus Games founder admitted his children have given him a new outlook on life.
He added in his statement: “Becoming a father of two incredibly kind and funny kids has given me a fresh perspective on life, as well as sharpening my focus in all my work. Being a dad is one of life’s greatest joys and has only made me more driven and more committed to making this world a better place.”
