The fake photos suggesting Mel’s pregnancy in Virgin River Season 6 are heavily blurred. One of them also suggests that Jack got Mel’s sister Joey pregnant, as the blurred photo shows an inaccurate hairstyle of Mel’s.
It’s highly probable that the fake photos are AI-generated. This would explain the inaccuracy in one of the photos when it comes to Mel’s hairstyle.
Fans had all sorts of reactions after the fake photos hit the web. “She looks like she is carrying a literal litter,” wrote one fan on Reddit. “No way they would make her that big.”
“It doesn’t even look like Mel in the first pic come on guys,” another fan commented.
However, one fan theorized that one of the blurred pictures could be from a dream sequence, pointing out Jack wearing a pink suit as evidence.
Although the photos are clearly fake, it’s unsurprising that some would have thought they were real. Mel and Jack do eventually sire two children in the books. Moreover, Mel, who struggled with fertility issues and suffered a miscarriage prior to the series, was pregnant in Season 4 with her and Jack’s daughter but unfortunately miscarried in Season 5.
The official trailer for the new season teases Mel and Jack’s upcoming marriage instead of them having children.
