Long gone are the days when Mark Zuckerberg used to drive a Toyota Prius or a Honda Fit. The tech billionaire has just disclosed the brand and model of the car that he currently drives. We must admit we expected something else.
With a net worth of almost $2 billion, Mark Zuckerberg could afford any car out there and a gazillion more. Over the years, he has been spotted driving everything from the Volkswagen Golf GTI to the Honda Fit and Ford Bronco.
He also bragged about his Acura TSX compact car that he labeled as being “safe, comfortable, and not ostentatious.” He is obviously the kind of driver that would like to keep a low profile wherever he goes.
He is not the one to splash on cars, but does have an expensive model in his garage. It is a Pagani Huayra that he reportedly paid $1.4 million.
Zuck has recently posted a video of himself looking for his car in a parking lot and finding it with the help of the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. With a built-in camera, open-air audio, and holographic projections, the glasses help him figure out where he parked.
It has happened to us so many times that we thought we’d just stand in the parking lot waiting for everyone to go home, so we could finally find the car in the chaos. Well, at least the tech mogul got rid of the issue. In the video, he asks the AI-based glasses where he parked and the eyewear sends him straight to the right spot.
In the comments section, someone asks “So what does Zuck drive? Any guesses…” and he gets a reply from the man himself. “Mostly Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing these days but sometimes other things,” he reveals, and you can see the screenshot of the conversation in our photo gallery above. We have no idea what “things” he refers to, but we do know he likes yachts, ski jets, surfboards, and private planes.
He gets a lot of positive reactions: “Wow, pleasantly surprised,” a user replies, while another admits he is impressed. And he’s got every reason to be. His daily driver is a sports sedan set in motion by a supercharged 6.2-liter V8, which pumps out 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet (893 Newton meters) of torque.
A ten-speed auto box or a six-speed manual transmission puts the power down through the rear wheels. The Facebook founder keeps the transmission details to himself, and we can only hope it’s a row-your-own box. Those are enough to make the CT5-V Blackwing flash from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 kph) in 3.4 seconds on its way to a top speed of 200 mph.
A father of three, the 40-year-old sure needs the space and the practicality of the sports sedan. He can have his fair share of fun when he leaves the kids home.
