Jake Paul revealed his tentative boxing return date and location after rumors surfaced of a showdown with Canelo Alvarez.
Several high-profile names were linked to a potential boxing match with Jake Paul in recent weeks, including UFC superstar Conor McGregor. Jake’s brother, Logan, was initially in ‘preliminary agreements’ to face McGregor in India before negotiations stalled.
Paul hasn’t fought in the ring since defeating heavyweight boxing legend Mike Tyson in November to extend his five-fight winning streak by unanimous decision. He’s bounced back nicely since suffering his first-career defeat to Tommy Fury by split decision in 2023.
Boxing journalist Julius Julianis reported Monday that Paul and Canelo Alvarez agreed to square off in May for a Cinco de Mayo event. Julianis revealed the proposed Paul vs. Alvarez fight will be co-promoted by Most Valuable Promotions, Premier Boxing Champions (PBC), and Canelo Promotions.
Amidst the Paul vs. Alvarez rumors, Paul took to social media to reveal his boxing return date and location, contradicting the initial Alvarez fight reports.

Alvarez is reportedly set for a super fight against Terence Crawford later this year in Riyadh, per Ring Magazine. He hasn’t appeared in the boxing ring since defeating Edgar Berlanga by unanimous decision in September.
Alvarez could potentially face the winner of the Dmitry Bivol vs. Artur Beterbiev rematch at a later date, after their upcoming clash on February 22nd. David Benavidez has also repeatedly called out Alvarez to unify their super middleweight titles.

Paul and Alvarez have teased a potential fight over the last year amidst the polarizing star’s success in the ring. Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather provided a brutally honest assessment of how a clash between his former rival and Paul would play out.
A fight with Alvarez would be Paul’s toughest boxing match by a gigantic margin after recent fights with former UFC superstar Nate Diaz, Bare Knuckle FC star Mike Perry, and other inexperienced professional boxers.
If Paul vs. Alvarez comes to fruition as initial reports suggest, it would be one of the biggest boxing fights of the year. But for now, the bout appears to be nothing more than a rumor after Paul’s recent social media posts.
