Jake Paul is looking for a new opponent after a clash with Canelo Alvarez fell through.
Paul is one of the most talked about boxers on the planet despite not having any major honours and only having had 12 professional fights.
Last time out he took on former heavyweight legend Mike Tyson and beat him on points over eight rounds in a contest that was most defined by the 30+ year age gap between the two men.
Former YouTuber Paul has only lost once, and that was to Tommy Fury, though has beaten plenty of ageing fighters and former MMA stars.
He has often spoken of his desire to fight multi-weight world champion Canelo and the two looked set fo face each other, but at the last moment the Mexican instead went another route and will now fight William Scull in May and Terence Crawford in September.
One man who has made it clear that he would be willing to face Paul is former unified super-middleweight world champion Carl Froch, who has been involved in a war of words with ‘The Problem Child’ over the last few months.
“They might come to me now and ask me for a fight instead of me giving them a load of s**t and saying I’m calling him out. But I’ve always said it and I stand by it, I’ll fight Jake Paul for free.
They said OK if you’re doing the fight for free it’s got to be all the money to charity and all the affiliations and all the links ups and anything you make from the fight has got to go to charity.
I said alright pass me the contract I’ll get it signed and I’ll knock Jake Paul’s teeth down the back of his throat and guess what, they went quiet. They’ve got no intention of fighting anybody with a pulse.”
Froch has been retired since he knocked out George Groves in the final defence of his 168lb title back in May 2014.
Plenty of active fighters are willing to step up and fight Paul in Canelo’s place, however, including former unified world heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz Jr.
