‘Sweet Magnolias’ star Carson Rowland married his wife Maris in 2021

Carson Rowland has been married to his wife, Maris Rowland, since 2021.

The actor, who stars as Tyler Townsend on Netflix’s Sweet Magnolias, began dating Maris in 2019 and proposed two years later. The couple wed the same year in Florida before later welcoming their daughter, Eden, in 2023.

While they have kept their relationship on the more private side over the years, Carson has opened up on occasion about his bond with Maris.

“My wife is just the most incredible person in the world,” he shared on The Art of Kindness with Robert Peterpaul podcast in 2022. “To have her alongside me, and me alongside her, it’s indescribable how amazing this is.”

Carson added, “How we operate together, how we work together, and to go through life together is just, it’s amazing.”

The actor also had kind words to say about his in-laws and how they raised Maris. “Her family, her mom and her dad are powerhouses, too,” he shared. “I mean, just incredibly strong people. And that created her, who’s just an incredibly strong, wise person. And, you know, that’s the goal.”

Maris is originally from Delray Beach, Fla. and has two sisters, Corinne and Emma. She stayed in her home state for college and attended The University of Florida where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority.

Maris graduated in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in applied physiology and kinesiology. She previously worked for XPE Sports in Boca Raton, Fla., as a student athletic trainer before moving into a full-time role as an assistant trainer, per her LinkedIn.

In November 2020, Maris began working at Boca General Family Medicine as a referral coordinator. Now, she is the chief administrative officer of Second Mile Inc.

She started dating Carson in 2019

Carson and Maris began dating in September 2019, but have not publicly shared how they first met. Maris celebrated their first dating anniversary in 2020 with a post dedicated to Carson on Instagram.

“A whole year with my favorite person and best friend,” she wrote alongside a carousel of images.

The I Am Frankie actor commented on the post, “I love you 😤.”

Carson proposed to Maris on July 10, 2021.

The bride-to-be shared the engagement news on Instagram the following day with a photo of Carson kneeling in front of her, surrounded by string lights, candles and flowers.

“My best friend is going to be my husband! @carsonrowland you are better than my wildest dreams I can’t wait to be your wife!🤍✨,” she captioned the post.

She married Carson in 2021

Carson and Maris married on Oct. 16, 2021. Their nuptials took place at the Sundy House in Maris’ hometown, Delray Beach, Fla.

The bride wore a mermaid-style dress for the special day and accessorized with simple jewelry pieces and a bouquet of long-stem white roses, while Carson looked dapper in his black suit.

The bridesmaids wore black mid-length dresses and carried bouquets of baby’s breath, while the groomsmen donned black suits with baby’s breath boutonnières.

The Netflix star celebrated his first wedding anniversary by sharing a black-and-white photo of their exit from the wedding, captioning the Instagram post: “The best year, bar none. Happy anniversary, my love ❤️.”

Carson and Maris welcomed their daughter in 2023

In June 2023, Carson and Maris announced they were expecting their first child together.

“A dream is coming true, our family is growing,” the actor told PEOPLE. “Maris and I feel so blessed and can hardly contain our excitement.”

Carson added, “I can’t wait to meet my little baby in November.”

Maris shared, “I am so excited that our baby will get to have Carson as a dad. Pretty soon it’ll be the three of us, and we couldn’t be more excited. We can’t wait to meet you little one.”

The couple welcomed their daughter, Eden Stone, on Nov. 10, 2023.

Many of Carson’s costars from Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin and Sweet Magnolias congratulated the parents on their new arrival, including Jamie Lynn Spears who commented, “Omg!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!” on the Instagram announcement post.

Maris supports Carson’s career

Although she is not often in the spotlight, Maris is supportive of her husband and his career.

She was by Carson’s side for the red carpet premiere of Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin at Warner Bros. Studios in 2022 and shared a sweet message to congratulate her husband.

“I am so proud of you, Carson Rowland!!” she wrote on Instagram. “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin streaming July 28th on @hbomax!! #bloodyredcarpetevent.”
