The “Gimme a Light” rapper also opened up about her friendship with Drake: “He’s excited for ‘Y2K!,’ he told me”

Rap beef can feel exciting for Ice Spice.

In a new cover story interview with Rolling Stone, the “Gimme a Light” rapper, 24, shared her thoughts on Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s feud that’s played out through a series of diss tracks.

“I’m a music lover. So, I appreciate the sport of it — I think it’s really cool,” Ice said of the beef.

She also spoke about her friendship with Drake. “We talk, but we never really was on some bestie s—,” detailed the musician, before adding that the “Hotline Bling” artist, 37, has shown support ahead of her upcoming debut album release. “He’s excited for Y2K!, he told me.”

Over the past few months, Drake and Lamar’s feud played out through a series of diss tracks. The Canadian rapper released “Push Ups,” “Taylor Made Freestyle” and “Family Matters,” while the Pulitzer Prize winner dropped “Euphoria,” “Meet the Grahams,” “6:16 in L.A.,” “Not Like Us” and a verse on Metro Boomin and Future’s “Like That.”

In the lyrics of his songs, Drake made a domestic abuse allegation against Lamar, 37, regarding his longtime fiancée, Whitney Alford, claimed one of the “Humble” performer’s kids is not his biological offspring and questioned his activism.

Lamar, on the other hand, called Drake a “pedophile” and “colonizer” in his songs while simultaneously questioning his relationships with both his family and the culture at-large.

Ice isn’t the only rapper to open up about finding enjoyment in the feud as of late. Last week, Latto told BIllboard she was a fan: “I ain’t going to lie: I liked it! I liked the back-and-forth.”

“I thought it was healthy for the culture. It just felt nostalgic. I don’t think our generation has even seen a rivalry like that. I f—ed with it,” added the “Big Energy” musician.

Y2K!, featuring collaborations with Travis Scott, Gunna and Central Cee, is out Friday, July 26 via 10K Projects and Capitol Records.
