“I went crazy”: A black employee received a strange reaction when appearing at the set of XO, Kitty season 3

The cast of XO, Kitty is buzzing with excitement as Noah Centineo makes a surprise return in the highly anticipated season 2 of the To All the Boys spinoff series. Centineo, who played Peter Kavinsky in Netflix’s To All the Boys film trilogy, returns as a familiar face to provide some timely encouragement to his girlfriend’s younger sister, Kitty Song Covey (Anna Cathcart). XO, Kitty season 2, which premieres January 16, 2025, promises more drama and romance as Kitty navigates her second semester at the Korean International School of Seoul (KISS) in search of true love.

In an interview with ScreenRant‘s Tessa Smith, Cathcart and Anthony Keyvan (“Q”) are thrilled to have Centineo back on set. The Netflix trailer for XO, Kitty season 2 features a dreamy appearance from Centineo in its closing moments, where Peter reminds Kitty, “You are Kitty Song frickin’ Covey. Don’t you forget it.” Cathcart, who also played Kitty alongside Lana Candor as the older Lara Jean Song Covey, has been a part of the Covey family story since the titular book series adaptation in 2018. She shares her genuine excitement about reuniting with Centineo, who played Lara Jean’s boyfriend:

So, so exciting. I honestly still can’t believe this actually happened. I was freaking out when I found out it was confirmed. I was like texting Noah being like, there’s no way this is actually real. It was very, very cool to be back with him just as a person, but also back in the space of our characters and getting to be on screen together again was so much fun. And just his support for the show and his support for me throughout the years is, honestly, it means so, so much.

Keyvan, who plays one of Kitty’s roommates and closest confidante, expresses his enthusiasm about Centineo’s impact, even though the two didn’t share any scenes together:

I, unfortunately, did not have any scenes with the guy, but I heard great things, and who’s to say what’s to happen in the future? I would love to work with him, but I’m just glad that he was able to come back and make his mark once again on this amazing legacy that he helped create.

What Noah Centineo’s Cameo In XO, Kitty Season 2 Means

Centineo returning as Peter could serve as a vital moment of clarity for Kitty amid the whirlwind of emotions she’s navigated since she left for Seoul. XO, Kitty season 1 ended with Min Ho confessing his feelings for Kitty on their plane ride home to Los Angeles. This unexpected declaration came on the heels of Kitty realizing she had romantic feelings for Yuri, prompting her to break up with her boyfriend, Dae, and begin exploring her identity and attraction to women.

XO, Kitty season 2 picks up with Kitty determined to focus on her studies after almost flunking out in season 1, and further uncovering her mother’s past after she reads an old letter detailing the late Eve’s first love with a boy named “Simon” at KISS. Yet, the trailer suggests that Kitty struggles to keep the romances and drama of XO, Kitty at bay. This is where Peter fits seamlessly into Kitty’s hectic time at school. His character can act as a grounding force for Kitty who has spent a lot of her time away from the Covey family.

Peter’s pep talk urges Kitty to embrace her chaotic life with determination. As Kitty balances her search for her mother’s past alongside her complicated relationships with Yuri, Min Ho, and Dae, Peter’s presence may encourage her to take the time to figure out what she truly wants.

Our Take On Noah Centineo’s XO, Kitty Cameo

Netflix’s Best Boyfriend Is Back

Lana Condor and Noah Centineo in To All the Boys

Noah Centineo’s return as Peter Kavinsky brings the right amount of nostalgia and narrative excitement to XO, Kitty‘s sophomore season. Anna Cathcart’s elation about working with him again speaks volumes to their time on set in To All The Boys film series. Peter can help Kitty along her journey of self-discovery, offering a moment of reassurance as she faces a period of total emotional and personal upheaval.

For fans, seeing Cathcart and Centineo share the screen again brings a warm sense of familiarity while deepening the teen romance series’ story of identity and belonging. Peter’s brief appearance feels impactful, setting up XO, Kitty for a season brimming with growth, drama, and the perfect dose of Covey family heart.
