New set photos for Reacher season 3 reveal a look at Alan Ritchson in a new location. One of the most successful Prime Video shows, Reacher has had two seasons on the platform. Two weeks before the premiere of the sophomore season, the streamer officially renewed Reacher for season 3.
A post from @neilmorton reveals what appear to be the first set photos from Reacher season 3. Four photos were shared in this post, featuring Ritchson on set in Millbrook, Ontario. In the first photo, Ritchson stands next to a shiny black car, a brick building behind him. The next photo features the actor working with crew members on the Reacher set, and the third photo is similar. The fourth and final photo takes place on this same set, this time with the camera situated inside a store window, looking out at Ritchson.
How Reacher Season 3’s Setting Change Will Impact the Show
Reacher Is Returning To Another Small Town
The Reacher television show is adapted from Lee Child’s Jack Reacher novel series. The first two seasons of Reacher adapted Book 1, The Killing Floor and Book 11, Bad Luck and Trouble, respectively. Reacher season 3 will go back to the seventh novel, Persuader, to adapt its story. Persuader’s plot is a revenge story surrounding Jack Reacher’s attempt to punish a former Military Intelligence agent named Quinn.
In covering this plot, Reacher will move away from the New York City plot setting that it had in season 2. From the set photos, the backdrop of Reacher season 3 looks far more quaint. With action unfolding in this small town, however, what unfolds will likely be far from mild as Reacher intensely seeks revenge on Quinn.
As a series, Reacher is no stranger to uprooting small town serenity. While season 2 found large-scale action in a megacity, Reacher season 1 took place primarily in the rural town of Margrave. This season helped to establish Reacher as a character, as it told a smaller story.
Reacher season 3 can accomplish a similar feat with its setting. Stripped down from the New York City skyscrapers, Reacher can focus on a more character-driven story. With these reported set photos, it seems that Reacher season 3 is in full swing of production, so there will hopefully be more updates soon. As these updates progress, only time will tell how much Reacher season 3’s setting change will alter the show.
Who Is In Reacher Season 3?
Reacher season 3 has already cast new characters
These set photos focus mainly on Ritchson, who will reprise his role as Jack Reacher, but he is not the only cast member revealed for season 3. Maria Stern will also return to Reacherin the recurring role of Francis Neagley. The main villain, Quinn, will be played by Brian Tee. Tee recently had a role in the Prime Video show Expats, so Reacher will be a continuation of his work for the streamer. His other past work includes roles in Jurassic World, The Wolverine, and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.

When Will Reacher Season 3 Arrive?
Reacher does not yet have a release date
Reacher season 3 does not yet have an exact release date, but the presence of these set photos make its production far more promising. Reacher season 2 only ended about three months ago, releasing its finale episode on January 19. The fact that they are already in full swing on production for Reacher season 3 just further proves Prime Video’s commitment to Reacher as a series. Combined with the fact that Reacher was renewed for a third season before season 2 even began, it is even more clear that Reacher is one of the streamer’s priorities.
Reacher season 1 released all episodes in February 2022. It then took a year and ten months for season 2 to come out, airing its first episode in December 2023. If Reacher seasons 2 and 3 were to have a similar gap, the third season would not arrive until late 2025. Given the early renewal, casting announcements, and active production, however, Reacher season 3 is much more likely to arrive at the top of 2025.
How Will Reacher Season 3 Be Received?
The change in location is a risk for Reacher
With the change in location, there could be both risks and rewards for Reacher season 3. If handled well, Reacher season 3 could be a great chance to explore the protagonist’s internal state in greater detail. If mishandled, the season could risk losing the momentum of season 2’s high-stakes action. Overall, it is hopeful that Prime Video’s sustained commitment to the show comes with an increased budget and a maintenance of the overall quality.
