Eminem went head-to-head with Kendrick Lamar and came out on top, winning three trophies

Eminem went head-to-head with Kendrick Lamar at the Hiphop.de Awards — and came out on top, winning three trophies, including Best Rap Solo Act International.

The Hiphop.de Awards, established in 2005, are the biggest hip hop-specific music awards in the German-speaking world. Hosted by Hiphop.de, one of the largest hip hop magazines in the region, the awards recognise outstanding rap talent across various categories. Winners are determined by a mix of jury votes and public online voting, with the audience vote carrying extra weight in case of ties.

This time, Marshall has made a powerful return to the Hiphop.de Awards winners list after 11 years, and he did it by beating one of the biggest names in rap today — Kendrick Lamar. Eminem won three categories of his four nominations: Best Rap Solo Act International, Best Song International for “Houdini”, and Best Video International for “Houdini”. The Best Album International went to Kendrick Lamar’s “GNX”.

The “Houdini” victories were intense, as both Best Song International and Best Video International ended in a tie between Eminem’s track and Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” after the jury votes were counted. But when the audience vote came into play, Eminem took the lead, securing the wins.

However, when it came to Best Rap Solo Act International, there was no contest — Eminem won outright with both the jury and the public backing him. This marks his seventh win in this category, proving that his presence in the rap game is as strong as ever and showing how much of an impact his recent album has had on the international rap scene.

Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre beat Future & Metro Boomin for the Best International Group award, also in a close race ultimately decided by audience votes.

Eminem has a long history with the Hiphop.de Awards, with wins stretching back to 2006. His return to the winners’ circle shows just how much “The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grace)” has impacted the international rap scene. Beating Kendrick Lamar in such competitive categories? That just makes the victory even sweeter.
