Snoop Dogg and Eminem set aside their feud in 2021. Here’s what started the bad blood between them in the first place.
In 2020, Snoop Dogg shared his top ten rappers and did not include Eminem on the list. This began a feud between the two rappers. It didn’t last long, but Eminem felt quite disrespected for a time. He shared what Snoop said that upset him.
Eminem and Snoop Dogg were at odds for a time
When asked about his top ten rappers, Snoop said Eminem reached his level of success because of Dr. Dre.
“Eminem, the great White hope. White rappers had zero respect in rap. Let’s keep that one thou-wow. None,” he said on The Breakfast Club. “He [Dr. Dre] has probably put Eminem in the position to where he could be one of the top ten rappers ever. I don’t think so, but the game feels like he’s top ten lyricists and all that that comes with it. But, that’s just because he’s with Dr. Dre and Dr. Dre helped him find the best Eminem that he could find.”

Eminem replied to Snoop’s comments in the song “Zeus.”
“And, as far as squashin’ beef, I’m used to people knockin’ me/ But, just not in my camp/ I’m diplomatic ’cause I’m tryna be/ Last thing I need is Snoop doggin’ me.”
Eminem agreed that Dr. Dre helped his career a great deal. That wasn’t what he found insulting about Snoop’s list.
“Everything he said was fine, up to a point,” Eminem said on Shade 45 (per Rolling Stone). “Him saying Dre made the best version of me, absolutely, why would I have a problem with that?…. it was the last statement where he said, ‘Far as music I can live without, I can live without that s***.’ Now you’re being disrespectful. It just caught me off-guard.”
They reconciled after Dr. Dre had a brain aneurysm
In 2021, Dr. Dre had a brain aneurysm. Snoop and Eminem decided to set their issues aside to support their mutual friend.
Eminem believed the whole feud was an issue of miscommunication.
“‘This is stupid as hell to be feuding right now,’” Eminem said. “So I don’t remember if I called him or he called me, but we talked it out, and I think that there was a miscommunication at the time in regards to him being on my album The [Marshall] Mathers LP, [on] ‘B**** Please II.’ I think he had wanted to do something with me and maybe gave [music manager Paul Rosenberg] the idea or something, and [Rosenberg] said something to the effect of, ‘Well let’s hear what the song is first.’ … I think he said that the way he took it was kind of like, ‘I don’t f*** with him.’”
Snoop Dogg spoke about working with Eminem on ‘Missionary’
They later worked together on the song “Gunsmoke” on Snoop’s latest album. He shared what it was like to work with Eminem, 50 Cent, and Dr. Dre on the song.
Snoop said Eminem brought his all to the song.
“He going 75 bars of madness,” Snoop said. “F*** all of y’all. And after he listened to it back, he may be like, ‘Give it to me again. I need eight more bars.’”
