The highly anticipated fourth season of Emily in Paris has finally landed on Netflix, and fans who have already binged the available episodes are grappling with a massive secret revealed in part one.
The latest season, crafted by Darren Star, had a web of complex storylines to untangle – from Camille’s (Camille Razat) shocking pregnancy announcement to Emily’s (Lily Collins) intricate love triangle involving her chef neighbour Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and the dashing Brit Alfie (Lucien Laviscount).
After a gripping five episodes, we recap what went down during the finale of season four part one – from Agence Grateau’s newest beauty product, to Luc’s girlfriend’s Michelin star scandal and Camille’s heart-breaking secret.

Mindy (Ashley Park) introduces Emily to her friend Li, who is eager to promote her skin brand, Kadiance. It champions the ‘glass skin’ trend but leaves people looking suspiciously shiny, according to the Manchester Evening News.
She pitches it to Agence Grateau and Sylvie (Phillipine Leroy-Beaulieu) agrees to arrange a demo day. It proves to be a huge hit – but Julien (Samuel Arnold), who has returned to the agency after a short stint at JVMA, discovers that Li was previously on the French version of Dragons’ Den – pitching Kadiance as personal lubricant.
The latest twist in the hit show sees a close shave for Agence Grateau as just when the agency could blow its cover to some keen investors, Emily makes a savvy play to ramp up the product’s cost, keeping the company’s secret safe.
Emily and Gabriel seal the deal
Their walk home is filled with romance as Gabriel declares his love, returned eagerly by Emily. Their evening culminates in a kiss, and without missing a beat, Gabriel acknowledges Emily as his girlfriend in sight of an observant Camille.
Camille’s split
In other relationship news, Camille and Athens-born Sofia, portrayed by Melia Kreiling, start cohabiting next door to Gabriel. But friction arises as they clash over their spare room’s future. Sofia envisions an art studio while Camille desires a nursery space.
During an outing to pick out furniture, the tension boils over, leading to Camille challenging Sofia’s commitment to starting a family, and Sofia biting back urging her to ‘buy the damn rocking horse’ if it means so much. Following through, she purchases the rocking horse.
Sofia, having had enough, decides to pack her bags and head back to Athens, leaving a heartbroken Camille behind with an invitation to join her when she’s ready.
In another twist, Gabriel’s dreams of earning a Michelin star are shattered. He had been under the impression that Luc’s (Bruno Gouery) girlfriend Marianne (Laurence Gormezano) was a Michelin star inspector and could help him achieve his goal.

Early in the episode, Marianne tries to bribe Emily into paying their bill at L’Esprit de Gigi to increase his chances of getting a star. Later, Luc arranges a special meal for Sylvie and her husband Laurent G (Arnaud Binard) at Sylvie’s request, using Marianne’s high-end contacts. The couple is surprised to find Luc and Marianne joining them at the restaurant.
Marianne asks for the meal to be compensated as she claims to work for Michelin, but her lie is exposed by another inspector. He reveals that she was sacked from the company a year ago, leaving everyone stunned.
The real inspector labels her a fraud and refuses to cover the meal, while Luc tries to manage the situation. Sylvie is left with no choice but to pay the bill. When the news reaches Gabriel, he starts behaving erratically, giving out free drinks and celebrating.

Camille realises she’s lost it all – Gabriel, Sofia, and the baby she thought she was carrying. Confiding in her pal Elise, Camille reflects on how ‘her whole body felt different’ and she was ‘so sure she was pregnant. ‘ Elise advises that she should tell Gabriel about her sad discovery.
As the evening unfolds, Camille visits L’Esprit de Gigi to share her heartbreaking news with Gabriel. However, her intentions get upended when Gabriel joyfully reveals he no longer cares about not having a Michelin star.
“I already have everything I need… a great restaurant, a smart, beautiful girlfriend,” he proclaims, before continuing: “And a baby on the way. I’m the luckiest man alive.”
