Dr. Dre once admitted ‘The only person I like is Eminem’ has just confirmed the reason for refusing the 2025 world tour

Dr Dre on Hart To Heart

Dr. Dre, one of music’s most successful and sought after producers, sat down with Kevin Hart on a recent episode of Hart To Heart and stressed the importance of long term musical relationships.

“It’s about collaborating,” the “Still D.R.E.” producer says in response to Hart saying that Dre was connected to some of music’s biggest projects and artists. “Collaborating with some of the smartest and most talented motherfuckers to ever step inside of a studio.”

He explained further that the only artist that impressed him by means other than word of mouth was Eminem. “The only person that I ever heard on a demo tape that I liked and fucked with in the studio was Eminem,” Dre remembered. “Everything else was word of mouth and people telling me that I needed to hear Snoop – who came n the studio and just started rhyming. He didn’t understand song structure or anything, I think the D.O.C. taught him that.”

Dre explained the importance of long term musical relationships.

“If I’m fuckin with you, then I hopefully I wanna fuck with you for life,” he said. “I love long term relationships. We’re in a relationship and making music and money and gettin’ creative. It’s not just a one-off with me. When you sign up to work with me, hopefully you’re signing up for a life long relationship, thats why I’m going into it. We make this music, and hopefully it’s a stepping stone to a fantastic relationship going forward. We can talk about life, relationships, our kids, that’s what I look for. It’s a give and take, where I’m giving you this and I want something back.”
