Dana White appears to have been impressed with Darren Till’s boxing skills as he returned to the ring last night.
The Liverpool native once fought for UFC gold and was viewed as White’s next big star in the octagon. But after a lengthy losing streak he opted to try his hand in the ring, heading to Misfits Boxing last night for a showdown with light-heavyweight champion Anthony Taylor.
While Taylor was comically outsized, he put up a strong fight for six rounds before being viciously stopped at the Co-Op Live Arena. Till has since called out a number of major names as he looks to make a quick return to action.
Darren Till viciously knocks out Anthony Taylor in Misfits Boxing debut
As soon as Darren Till and Anthony Taylor came head-to-head inside the boxing ring on Saturday night, it looked like the American would have a tough night at the office. He tacked on almost 20lb from his light-heavyweight title figure to make the 195lb catchweight, and that was visible as the Brit towered over him.
Every punch from Taylor early appeared to do little to the former UFC title contender, and in the fourth he was put down after previous knockdowns had been ruled pushes and slips. He managed to survive in the fifth and even hurt Till a bit, but it was little more than a consolation amidst an onslaught.

Once the sixth started, Till almost immediately found success again with his uppercut and dropped Taylor again. And he put an end to proceedings a few seconds later with another thundering knockdown to land a big victory.
He immediately took to the mic to pay his respects to Taylor, before going into classic Till mode and calling out a number of major names. He included Jake Paul, Mike Perry and his old rival Jorge Masvidal among his hitlist.
Dana White’s impressed reaction after Darren Till’s Misfits KO
During the post-fight press conference for UFC 311, Till’s former employer Dana White was asked for his thoughts on the show. He has been generally dismissive of the influencer boxing world for the most part, but appeared to know about Till’s outing.

He didn’t seem aware of Taylor and his pedigree in either the cage as a Bellator fighter or the ring in his many boxing outings. But he was happy to see his old charge get a victory in what was clearly a consequential event.
“I saw that on the internet,” White told media when asked about the fight. “I never heard of the guy he fought but I guess he’s a tough guy and it was a big deal that Till beat him the way that he beat him.”
