Ben Shephard was seen fighting the tears during an emotional chat with boyband Five on Thursday’s This Morning as the band announced a UK reunion tour
Ben Shephard couldn’t hide his emotions during an interview with boyband Five on Thursday’s This Morning.
Alongside Cat Deeley, Ben spoke to band members Scott Robinson, Ritchie Nevile, Jason Paul Brown, Sean Conlon and Abz Love as they announced their reunion 25 years after splitting up.
The band will be heading on a UK tour spanning two weeks in Autumn 2025, in which they’ve teased a ‘naughty’ special guest, Naughty Boy.
As Cat introduced the band, Ben announced he was “quite emotional” as Cat responded: “Imagine how these guys feel.” Asking the band if they felt emotional, they expressed that they felt ‘overwhelmed’ with the unbelievable reaction from the fans.

Earlier on in the programme, Ben announced that Five were his first ever interview, which was the reason behind him getting so emotional.
“They were my first ever showbiz interview,” he could be heard telling Cat – although he added “it was a nightmare.”
“I was hopeless and I was really really nervous, and you had five young lads that were just like bouncy little puppies, jumping around. I still remember it vividly,” he said as he revealed he had to go for a lie down afterwards.

It’s not just Ben with history however, as earlier in the show, Cat had revealed that she presented the band with their first ever Brit Award.
It’s the first time the band have been back together with all original band members since their split in 2001. On February 24, Abz Love confirmed his return to the group as he joined Sean Conlon, Ritchie Neville, and Scott Robinson. At the time, it wasn’t confirmed whether Jason ‘J’ Brown would be part of their tour but, it’s now been confirmed all five will be part of the show.
Making the announcement on the band’s official Instagram page, they penned: “It’s true, the five of us are reuniting for a tour across the UK!! This has been a long time coming and it really does feel right for all of us now – 25 years on and we’re so ready for it.
“We really can’t wait to get back on stage together and see you all in person, it’s gonna go OFF!! Let’s goooooo!”
The tour is scheduled to begin in Brighton on Friday, October 31, 2025. The band will also stop in in Bournemouth, Cardiff, Nottingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Newcastle, Aberdeen, and Glasgow, as well as a performance at London’s iconic The O2 venue.
Tickets for the tour go on sale Friday March 7.
