Emily in Paris star Ashley Park has struggled with her health over the years.
The actress, 33, was recently hospitalised for septic shock and battled cancer – acute myeloid leukemia – when she was just 15.
Speaking to Cosmopolitan, Park said humour and staying positive has helped her through her trying times.
However, she admitted, “Even though both of the extreme illnesses I’ve had have been such flukes in a way – no one who’s 15 should have cancer, and no one who’s my age should have septic shock – I feel lucky, actually.
“It’s been kind of a miracle how I’ve recovered.”
Park went from hospital to filming season four of Emily in Paris, and said she just made it through as “it really was just about survival for me.”
Six months ago, Park gave an update on her health and even got a visit from her co-star and best friend, Lily Collins.
“I’m deeply moved and thankful for your beautiful messages of support and comfort, your personal stories of sepsis and hospitalisation, and truly to every person who has reached out with love… every message has honestly boosted me into a quick and hopeful recovery,” she wrote in her post.
“I’m sorry for the delay in responses, just wanted to update that I was medically cleared to fly after responding to treatments, and am now recovering and resting in Paris where I was greeted with this incredible warm welcome from loved ones and my Emily In Paris fam.”

“I promise I’m breathing through this all and taking as much care of myself as I can to get back into fighting shape. in the meantime, thanks for the couch cuddles @lilyjcollins ;).”
