The ongoing feud between Drake and A$AP Rocky appears to be on the verge of flaring up once again, as the latter is reportedly set to release new music said to further stoke those fires.
DJ Kast One recently appeared on Ebro in the Morning and weighed in on Rocky’s forthcoming album, Don’t Be Dumb, which he hints will include a few brutal jabs aimed at Drake. According to Kast One, the album, which he reveals he’s heard portions of, includes a mix of high-profile features, but also finds Rocky addressing the elephant that is the discord between himself and Drizzy.
“I heard songs being played. I heard Slick Rick [on it],” the renowned spinner told Ebro and company. “That was amazing. I also heard A$AP Rocky definitely addressing a lot of the main topics that are happening out here right now. Let’s just say, the list keeps going on strong.”
Upon being asked if his veiled allusion to Rocky responding to Drake means the two are still at odds and the Harlem native is still on the OVO boss’ “hitlist,” Kast One makes it clear that Rocky will not be holding back or mincing his words or actions when it comes to his former collaborator. “Oh, he’s going to be cemented on the list after this,” he forewarned of Drake’s likely reaction to Rocky’s looming musical releases.
Tensions between A$AP Rocky and Drake have been simmering for years and are largely attributed to Rocky’s relationship with R&B star Rihanna, whom Drake previously dated and has voiced his affections for on multiple occasions.
The beef began to boil over when Drake seemingly dissed Rihanna and her union with Rocky on his For All the Dogs album, leading to the fashion-forward spitter returning fire on the Kid Cudi track, “Wow.”
On the song, he sends a few not-so subtle shots at Drake, such as his alleged romance with adult film star Sophie Brussaux, the mother of Drake’s son, Adonis.
“Call up Pluto, Metro, should’ve put me on the first one/ Ni**as swear they bi**h the baddest, I just bagged the worst one/ Ni**as in they feelings over women, what, you hurt or somethin’?/ I smash before you birthed, son, Flacko hit it first, son/ Still don’t trust you, it’s always us, never them,” Rocky raps on the song.

Undeterred, Drake would respond on his “Family Matters” diss, pointing to Rocky’s lack of musical releases while seemingly claiming to have been intimate with Rihanna at the time Rocky was dating Brussaux. He also contends that Rocky’s popularity and celebrity are a product of him fathering Rihanna’s children and his looks rather than the quality of his albums.
“Rakim talkin’ sh*t again/ Gassed ’cause you hit my BM first, n***a do the math, who I was hitting then/ I ain’t even know you rap still ’cause they only talking ’bout your fit again/ Probably gotta have a kid again before you think of dropping any sh*t again/ Even when you do drop they gon’ say you should model cause it’s mid again,” the 37-year-old raps midway through the track.
His fourth studio album and first full-length effort since his 2018 album, Testing, Don’t Be Dumb, is slated to drop in 2024 and is rumored to include production by Tyler, the Creator, Madlib, Boi-1da, Pharrell Williams, Metro Boomin, The Alchemist and Mike Dean amongst the others, as well as possible guest appearances from Rihanna and Morrissey.
