Almost immediately after former President Donald Trump was shot in the ear during an attempted assassination at a rally in Pennsylvania, a 2003 hit by rapper 50 Cent began going viral.
The song, “Many Men (Death Wish),” is reportedly about the rapper being shot nine times in 2000 and surviving.
The rapper, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, performed the song in Boston in front of an edited photo of his album “Get Rich or Die Trying,” featuring Trump’s head on 50 Cent’s body.
“Many, many, many, many men. Wish death ’pon me, lord I don’t cry no more, don’t look to the sky no more, have mercy on me,” the artist is heard rapping in the video.
The edited album cover was also shared on social media with the rapper writing, “Trump gets shot and now I’m trending.”
In a since-deleted post, according to HuffPost, 50 Cent also shared an image of the former president with a bloody ear and raising his fist.

“I know the vibeswe are all in trouble now!” he captioned the post.
During a visit to Capitol Hill in June, 50 Cent told CBS News correspondent Nikole Killion that he sees Black men “identifying with Trump,” according to The Hill.
