Prince Harry turned to BBC News for help in getting a message to his father, King Charles, who isn’t speaking to his youngest son, but it seems the Duke’s plan was upended and instead resulted in backlash.

It appears his wife, Meghan Markle, found this offputting and turned to Instagram to make her feelings known, but she didn’t post a speech or a lecture, instead, she protested in silence, sharing a stunning photo with no caption.

The black and white photo sees Harry with their two children walking up a hill, surrounded by tall, beautiful trees that are filled with blossoms.

It’s similar to going into an art gallery and the artist saying they refrained from naming their piece, to let the viewer draw their own conclusion, which may be what’s happening here.

When looking at Meghan’s Instagram post, it is quite beautiful, actually striking, and the Duchess may be saying without saying: “I’ll just leave this here for you.”

But the problem is the timing, it comes right after Harry sat down with the BBC, where he spoke about reconciling with his father, and now the internet is wallpapered with commentary about how it could be considered inappropriate and may have worsened the situation.

It’s not clear what Meghan’s intent was in sharing this photo, but most people will likely interpret it as, “Look at us, we’re very happy, with or without the Royal Family,” but that actually goes against what Harry suggested just yesterday.

As confusing as it is to observe, it’s probably even more confusing to be in it, which may explain the back and forth behavior.

Harry was on a roll with his travels and humanitarian efforts ,but it seems losing his legal case in the UK may have triggered a chain of events, including an emotional plea on national TV.

Royal expert Pauline Maclaran said of the interview and the Duke being so candid: “I am rather surprised about his interview but I suspect it’s an immediate reaction to the security decision and his disappointment over the verdict.”
