Jaimie Alexander, who played Lady Sif in Thor movies, wants to work with Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man.
Marvel fans are surely finding ways to bring Robert Downey Jr. back into the fold, and while it’s a bit complicated at this point due to his character’s fate in Avengers: Endgame, there’s one possible and interesting plot that waits for Iron Man.
Jaimie Alexander, the actress who played Sif in the Thor franchise, expressed interest in sharing the screen with Downey Jr. in future MCU films. Although both of their returns are questionable, it does sound like a really good idea to have them team up.
Jaimie Alexander Wants Lady Sif To Team Up With Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man
While appearing at San Antonio’s Superhero Comic-Con, actress Jaimie Alexander revealed which MCU hero she would like Lady Sif to work with in the movies (via Agents of Fandom): I really like Iron Man. The flirtation would be funny because I think Lady Sif would punch him in the face.
Now, this is definitely a possible scenario because Lady Sif is known to be quite a strong and fearsome Asgardian warrior. She does not take any nonsense and won’t even let Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man stand a chance.
Alexander previously shared via Entertainment Weekly that she’s always up for a reprisal of her role if the studio wants her back.
I love Marvel. I’d be happy to do other projects with them at any time. They’re a great company — I love all the guys and girls over there — they always are able to get a really fun cast for almost every project they have, which is often.
Even Downey Jr. is willing to return as Iron Man as he claimed it’s the role closest to his personality. He told Variety, “It’s just crazily in my DNA. Probably the most like-me character I’ve ever played.” The actor admitted being “surprisingly open-minded to the idea” of playing Tony Stark again.
Kevin Feige On Iron Man’s Highly Requested Return To MCU
Even though all hopes were snuffed out after Kevin Feige declared they wouldn’t bring Tony Stark back to life, he provided a good reason for their decision. He told Vanity Fair: We are going to keep that moment and not touch that moment again. We all worked very hard for many years to get to that, and we would never want to magically undo it in any way.
Of course, there are lots of ways to undo it. Even the comic books have stories where he died and returned to life. It’s just his death in Avengers: Endgame provided a satisfying conclusion to a saga that lasted for a decade, and that’s a proper service to his name.
However, there are also several ways the studio could revisit events before the epic battle in the final Avengers film. Surely, there’s got to be a way they could show an interaction between Lady Sif and Iron Man.
