The Fantastic Four movie has a major connection to Marvel characters like Spider-Man and Doctor Doom. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is getting ready to finally see the arrival of one of the most important sets of characters from Marvel Comics. 2025 will see the talented ensemble of The Fantastic Four bring Marvel’s First Family to life, marking the team’s first film under Marvel Studios after a few movies were released to varying results.

On Twitter, @robdino1925 shared the first look at The Fantastic Four banners for San Diego Comic-Con, which included the reveal of the Future Foundation.

Spider-Man and Doctor Doom are among the members of the Future Foundation in the comics. Tom Holland plays Spider-Man in the MCU, with Doctor Doom still having to be cast for the shared universe. At the moment, with little revealed of The Fantastic Four‘s plot, there has been no confirmation that Spider-Man and/or Doctor Doom will appear in The Fantastic Four.

How Fantastic Four’s Future Foundation Connects To Spider-Man & Doctor Doom Explained

The Future Foundation Entering The MCU Is Exciting

Future Foundation including Spider-Man in Marvel Comics

The Future Foundation is one of Reed Richards’ most interesting creations in the comics. Mr. Fantastic decided that he could solve many of the future’s problems by assembling a roster of the smartest young minds in the universe in the present. And so the Future Foundation was born, with brilliant young characters helping shape the future they would later experience. Spider-Man and Doctor Doom were not initially part of the Future Foundation, despite their genius-level intellect.

After Johnny Storm died — temporarily, as often happens in the comics — he left a will that asked for Spider-Man to step up and join the Fantastic Four. Peter Parker accepted his best friend’s request and joined the Future Foundation as the team expanded beyond its initial goal. As for Doctor Doom, the character was not recruited by one of the core Fantastic Four characters. In reality, it was Valeria Richards, Reed and Sue Storm’s daughter, who asked Doom to join them. The character helped the Future Foundation in its quest to find the Reed Richards of different universes.

With Holland set to return for Spider-Man 4 in the MCU and likely the upcoming two Avengers movies, it is but a matter of time before he crosses paths with the Fantastic Four. As for Doctor Doom, the character has appeared in all the live-action movies of the team so far, and as the Fantastic Four’s main villain, it is likely that he will at least make a cameo in The Fantastic Four. Both Spider-Man and Doctor Doom could join the Future Foundation in the MCU down the line.
