Take us with you! The Voice alums and married couple Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton just took a gorgeous trip to the Ozarks to spend some family time with Stefani’s sons Zuma, 16, and Apollo, 11. (She also has oldest son, 18-year-old Kingston).
or their trip, the foursome stayed at the Big Cedar Lodge in Branson, Missouri, which bills itself as a luxury resort with nature golfing amenities. Something tells us Shelton definitely took advantage of that option. In her video, Stefani showed the family enjoying activities like exploring caves in golf carts, visiting a scenic church, dining on specialty foods with custom menus, and of course, taking in the outdoors.
“Such an unforgettable time at @bigcedarlodge 💐 the flowers, the food, the family memories. thank u for making it all so special 💛 gx” Stefani wrote on Instagram, setting the video montage to “Purple Irises,” her love song with Shelton.
Shelton loves the stepdad life
Stefani shares her kids with her ex-husband, rocker Gavin Rossdale, but Shelton takes his duties as a bonus parent very seriously.
“I think being a stepdad has changed my perspective in that I’m not the first person that I think about anymore,” the singer told Access. “Even to the small little things when you go, ‘I think I’ll do this,’ the very next thought is always,‘Well, wait a minute. How’s that going work?’ Or, ‘What will they think?’ Or, ‘How will that affect a schedule?'”
In fact, Shelton’s role as stepdad is part of why he decided to leave The Voice after 23 seasons. “I think the only way for me to really do [being a stepdad] right is to step away from being committed to something like The Voice that demands a lot of your time,” he said. “There’s no way around it. If you’re going to do it and do it right, you have to be 150 percent in. And I just feel like those days are behind me for now. I got a more important job.”
Married since 2021, Shelton and Stefani are still in the honeymoon stage. “She’s my best friend; that’s the best way I know to say it,” Shelton told Access in April 2024. “And we have fun with it — maybe that’s the key. We have so much fun together. Whether we’re having a cup of coffee in the morning, watching a movie, or performing in an arena somewhere.”
