It’s a very different version of Taylor Swift’s favorite look.
Emily in Paris? No ma’am, that’s Lily Collins in London.
On December 1, the 35-year-old actor celebrated the opening of The Devil Wears Prada musical at London’s Dominion Theater, which is just a 12 minute walk from where she’s currently starring in the West End production of Barcelona. In keeping with the anti-Emily in Paris aesthetic she began crafting over the summer, Collins hit the red carpet in a sheer sequin corset gown by Vivienne Westwood featuring a dramatic thigh slit.
Well, almost sheer. Though the skirt is lined to give a see-through effect without revealing anything too scandalous, the draped bodice does appear to peak through to the corset’s boning underneath. And if the silhouette looks familiar, it’s because Taylor Swift has rocked two very different versions of the look in the past few months.

Frankly, with everyone and their mothers out here method dressing, it’s somewhat refreshing to see Lily Collins commit to the opposite. Sure, part two of Emily in Paris season four dropped in September, but Collins broke away from her character’s delightfully garish aesthetic—which is mostly delightful in limited, 10-episode doses—well before that press tour, starting with her dramatic chop in June.
To match her chic blunt bob—which may be more Parisian than anything our girl Emily has ever worn—Collins began distancing herself from colorful, voluminous pieces she’s embraced on previous press runs in favor of sleek tailoring, dark color palettes, and skin-bearing designs.
And that’s when she was promoting the cheerful Netflix series. While it may no longer be fair to describe Collins’ street style choices as defiantly anti-Emily, there’s an unfussy warmth to her recent winter wardrobe that’s much more fitting of the London theater scene than a Darren Star production.

When Emily Cooper wears a teddy coat, she pairs it with a matching shearling purse and unironic newsboy cap, not sweatpants and Sambas.
